Android Rooting Questions?
Ok... So I have never rooted a phone but have heard about doing this to FREE up ur phone etc. Can someone explain to me what exactly rooting a phone is an if I should do it and if it will hurt my phone. Also any recommended sites to explain how. I have a HTC INSPIRE , its an android phone that I only use for WiFi connection. Thanks graalians! |

Rooting your phone is usually perfectly safe, but it really depends who you get the root from. There may or may not be a virus in it, so it's really a reputable guess. Check around for forum posts regarding your specific root. Now that we have that out of the way, I'll explain what rooting does! Rooting is really similar to jailbreaking. It allows full read and write access to your phone's system files, allowing you to do cool things. An example of this would be to edit your phone's hosts file. Another example would be to install ROMs, like Clockwork Recovery. You can also enable free tethering. There is a wide variety of things it can do! What do you want to root it for? |
