The guy who has been working for 3-4 years to reach 1,000 hours and is finally about to do it deserves the prize just as much as the people (sometimes admins) who amassed large groups of their friends to do so in a shorter period of time.

Ya i agree somewhat. Like the guild I've been in, (ANl3U), started in 2011 but they finally got to 1,000 hours last week with the help of newer people. I think it kinda suck that we aren't able to get a gif hat when we got 1k hours before the new rule was brought up but oh wells :p. I do like the new update though. These past 1-2 years, I've only seen other guilds taking 2 months or so to get 1k hours. So I think it would be great to see guilds reach 5k hours if they want a gif hat . It also creates more loyalty so that's a good thing!

good finally hat makers have a chance to make a normal ****ing hat. I'm sick of noob guilds getting 1k and asking for a hat that breathes out fire and electricty comes out of eyes and then turns rainbow and wings have to flap and the helmet has to shine. ****ing noobs. Thank you <3

I don't see why this is a issue for the people fighting about it. You are fighting for a hat to be a animation you still can get a png hat. I really thought they would of done this months ago. I rather see people do se bad ass hats with no animtion on it. Please no more "Anbu" mask.

A lot of the GIF 1k hats looked terrible, so if anything you are doing them a favor. They look much better in PNG format. (Only a few are able to make decent animated hats)

Reward tiers need to be completely restructured. People rinse and repeat guilds at 1000 hours because the 1000-hour reward tier makes no sense vs. 5000 and 10,000.
"I can make 5 guilds with 1000 hours and give out 5 different hats to 125 people, or I can get 1 guild to 5000 hours and give out 2 different hats to 75 people." I wonder what people will choose? Structure the rewards so that players will want the reward at 10,000 more than 5000, and 5000 more than 1000. That isn't hard.

pretty much exactly what I was suggesting was done
I'm not entirely sure if allowing animations as the 5k reward is incentive enough, but it is a step in the right direction

as a tower guild leader, I am actually quite pleased with this restriction, because I am often pressured to choose a particular hat based on the rule that "IF IT'S ANIMATED IT'S BETTER" which in my opinion is almost never true
I almost always have GIFs disabled, but the only animated hat that I've ever actually thought was of a really high quality was Voyage's

I'm pretty sure an indirect result of this new rule will be that you see a lot more quality and creative 1k hats
so, despite many of my past guild members probably not agreeing with me, I say good job on this rule

Because people get 1k way too easy, and the enormous amount of large GIF files that are rolling in are taking up too much space on the server.

and also it's nice to have to earn more to get a fancier hat

plz remove all the ugly personal gifs & unused shields = problem solved

Are you serious, nobody does 5k hour hats, like the only people who actually do 5k hour hats are like the ldr and the ldrs Bfffls. Does this mean you people aren't gonna sell gif hats because the fact that most of graal hats are surprisingly awful given the fact you are taking gif away is pretty sad. But I guess it's preventing lag, but if you want to fix lag why not just make the area near giant blob spawn invisible. This is pretty dumb. What's next you are gonna take away the ability to make gif heads or probably get rid of custom heads and bodies overall. You might as well fire the entire Gfx staff to and just hire people who put edit heads in their status because that's pretty much what to expect without gif.

I support this, good idea. Also please do not just remove the rule again after a week like what happened when Xor removed 1k hats completely a couple of years ago.
