OS X Yosemite & iOS 8
Got OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 betas installed, they're both really great. Has anyone else installed either? There are a lot of bugs in the developer preview of Yosemite that I've discovered. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Certainly are some new innovative features. This new update is super dev-friendly. Who knows what new amazing iOS apps we'll see in the years to come. |

iOS 8 dont look no different. have they said which models 8 will be for yet? I hope they dont drop 4S this time.. Yosemite? besides the odd name for an OS, Mavericks was only, what, 6months ago? bleeehhhhh dont like the new dock. it looks fine on iPod/iPhone, but id rather keep the same ol' dock for OS X and those folders look flat and ugly.

Wrote an article for school about it. Its simple and informative: Article: Apple Unveils New Versions of OS X and iOS For Macs, Mobile Devices Today on June 2, 2014, Apple had their Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, CA. This is when developers come to a conference to discuss new additions and events. It is important and a major headline because it affects millions of people. There were many new releases to the company such as iOS 8 and OS Yosemite. This adds new additions and changes to the previous iOS 7 and OS Mavericks. Such new options are helpful add ons to make the products easier to use. For OS Yosemite, they changed the look to make it more simplified like iOS 7. The icons now are basic and colorful. They added more privacy options for web browsing as well. The greatest addition would have to be their “Handoff,” which makes your Mac and iOS device work together and share info. iOS 8 is an upgraded version of iOS 7. It simplifies some apps while adding new ones like health. Text messaging now allows you to control group chats by adding or removing people and sharing your location with friends. When you double click, it now shows your favorite contacts for easy messaging. Overall, both are great additions to Apple and will make working with one of their devices a lot easier. This is a big situation because it raises their stock price and affects the millions of people with an Apple device. They plan to release an iWatch and larger iPhone soon. I am interested how the iOS and phone will work together. |

I wouldn't really say innovative, many of the updates (with iOS 8 anyway) are things people have been complaining about for ages that Apple just haven't really got round to doing. A lot of it does seem to be Apple playing catch-up with other operating systems, which isn't a such a bad thing when you look at stuff such as widgets which have been a much requested and needed feature. I feel the updates were definitely needed, but there's not much that's really new or incredibly exciting. Just my opinion.
