Help With My LCD TV?
So I pretty much have been using standard definition TVs up until last year. I got an HD TV called a LCD Monitor P216HL by Acer. The problem with it is the volume is too loud. The first setting is too quiet and the second setting is too loud. I've already done a lot of research for this problem and haven't found anything of use. The only other option is I find speakers that match my TV. Is there a way to configure volume control? It has a million other volume settings and I can really only use the first two. Has anyone here experienced this issue?

Have you tried turning it on and off again?

Yeah, this has been going on for awhile now. The volume is perfectly fine when I hookup an HDMI cable with my computer because I can alter the computer volume. However, when it's the Xbox 360 or the Wii U the noise level is insane. I can alter the noise level within the games, but not all of them. I haven't been able to play Sonic due to the high volume.

The problem is you have a monitor with built-in speakers, not a TV.

Acer probably has drivers for the audio portion of the device. Whenever I get new headphones, if I do not install the device drivers then my sound is worthless in the same way as your own; volume 1 is too low, everything else is SUPER too high. The drivers, if they exist for this product, should fix that.

Because it's a monitor you're at mercy of it's terrible audio controls as you've found out. They assumed only people with computers would be using the built-in speakers. After reviewing the manual: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/233...page=14#manual I would suggest pressing the (e) button on the monitor then pressing the 4th button from the left, it should let you control it better. If that doesn't work then I would suggest getting speakers (and whatever necessary adapters) or an actual TV. |

It's definitely a button somewhere on the monitor itself, it wouldn't be anywhere else. I found the drivers for the device but they seem to be just for display, which means the audio is straight up controlled by the device itself and nothing else.

A bit off topic but I think it'd be pretty cool if this forum had a technology section. It seems that a lot of threads have been made concerning techy stuff in the off topic section lately lol.

I actually received it as a gift for Christmas. I was told it was a TV and never really looked at the instruction booklet since I didn't receive one from the person who gave me the TV. I forgot I could have just searched it online and I would have noticed sooner. |

It may have audio output but you'd probably be better off just getting sound from your computer to other speakers (cheap logitechs perhaps?) than deal with the monitor speakers. Generally speaking, the audio you get from a monitor with built in speakers is very poor. There are some that rise above the rest, but by and large the audiophile world considers it garbo! |

Not those monitor speakers, haha! For those of you who don't know, "monitor" speakers are a type of speaker used in sound design to hear the clearest signal of a song or music without any sort of added bass levels or anything like that. |
