Missing hats?

Has anyone ever had any issues with hats seemingly disappearing from their hat inventory? Obviously you'd probably notice if you were suddenly missing a hat, but the issue here is that I stopped play for about 2 years up until a couple months ago. I did notice the order in which my hats displayed was different (which I read is something that did happen to people who played before the "identify" system was added. And I did start playing in mid-2010). I can't be 100% sure, and I'm only going from memory, but there's one specific hat I was so sure I had purchased. The "white halo" hat that I believe was sold in snowtown. Then I started wondering if I could be missing any other hats.

In fact, there is one hat that I know I had purchased, and no longer have. But I'm thinking it's possible that this particular hat may have been removed. I'm referring to the "protest hat" briefly sold at Taylor Richards a few years back during that time when America was considering passing a law that would give the government more control over certain aspects of the internet (I don't remember all the details, but there was A LOT of public outrage over this bill, which thankfully did not pass). Was this hat removed? Does anyone know? Are there any other hats that have been removed? And, once more, have any other long-time players had any issues with missing hats, or am I merely misremembering things?

Yea that hat was removed and replaced can't remember which hat replaced it though. I think 2 more were removed too but all the hats that were removed were 1 gralat. I don't I have had a missing hat but I don't put a lot of attention in my hats so who knows

I believe the protest hat was replaced with a little blue wizard hat.

Why would they replace it? They could still use it to protest against the NSA.

It would be nice if we had an official response in regards to which hats have been changed/removed.

And I'm still curious if there is ANY way that someone in my situation could be missing any of my hats (not including those that were removed from the game).

I also seem to recall a menorah hat. Surely there were Chanukah-themed hats released at least one year? Being Jewish, I know I would have purchased them.

Seriously, someone tell me I'm not crazy.
