FMA (i watched Brotherhood) was a good show. But for what it was, it was wayy too long. Same show could have been done in 36-39episodes (3 season). And I hate how lazy some of the artwork is. 60% of the time Al is neglected and looks like this

I think the amount of episodes is right. Theres no loose ends

The original-which also could be considered the one NOT original, as it was concluded using filler which was written by the animators, not the author of the manga.

It was good and it was the first one I watched as well, it had more of a creepy mystique feeling to it, but the whole ending

about the gate and the real world, the ending leaving ed and al apart, and the movie tying things together in an edge of your seat type of way was great. I liked how the ending of this series really had you wondering if the protagonists would accomplish their goal and it seemed nothing was certain.

Although I feel this way about the first one, brotherhood was prettier to watch and had more epic combat scenes. The ending was definitely worse imo (many fans would disagree with me).

Im not saying they should have chopped off the end and left loose ends. I meant it could have been condensed into fewer seasons without lacking anything.
