Ok, I went on Classic and saw some events being hosted. It says press "join" and players will be picked in 30 seconds or something like that. Is this randomized? How does players gets picked? Cause I pressed join but ended up did not join so I was confused.

Btw, sorry if there's a thread made about this already, I just came back to Classic and didn't know what's what!  

It's random  

It's the new queue system which randomly picks players to get into events.
This replaces warpers when there are many players online, in order to prevent lag.
It seems to be a band-aid fix to the effect of the growing player base on the server.  

Randomized.. Mostly familiar players are picked. Guess classic don't like newbies winning some hot prizez. And by the way, why the "warper" system is long gone now?

to prevent lag by having loads of players enter one level  

It sounds better than the last one where you'd had to press join within a split second or else you wouldn't get in.

The queue has no preferences when picking players. In fact, it gives newbies much more of a fair chance of getting picked over the old door system. Typically in events now you see many more new faces than you used to.  

Can't remember the last time I actually got into an event.  

Yeah I've been joining the queue for months, haven't gotten into a single event with it yet xD  

Guess they don't want people like me with 30+ event hats to get into every event . I haven't gotten into one once in the past few months.

30+?? Geez dude, sit one out! Some of us have been playing Graal for a long time and have zero event hats.

What about the people who never get into the queue and have never won an event before?  

I think something different needs to be done with the events. This system would be good on a small server like Zone where the most players that'll try to join an event is about 100, but when there is 3000+ players on the server, and only a 1/100th of them gets to join its a real problem. Especially when there isn't bot events and events aren't being hosted as frequently (i understand them being hosted infrequently since the only prizes are hats or gralats).

But I'd think that 100 would be a minimum for how many players could join (thats the average that zone has joining events, so shouldn't that work on classic?)

The odds have not changed, so I don't see why people think that suddenly 1/3000 chance is much worse than it was. The difference is the odds are distributed among all the players fairly, rather than a select few always getting into them.

So yes... for players who were able to regularly get into events it may seem worse, but for players who never got in before their chances may be higher. I mean... there was an entire guild dedicated to winning events, and they were almost always getting into the events.

I'm not so much complaining about the odds for a single player to get into an event. What I'm saying is that the amount of players that can get into an event does not accommodate the high playercount.

Just doesn't make since to have 3000 players online and only let 30 of them participate in an event at once when you can easily handle more. That especially goes for events that dont require much management by staff to host (chance, races, etc.)
