Seasonal Achievements and Rewards
The title is pretty self explanatory. I'm defining seasonal as a quarter of the year. Basically, different categories exist for players to compete in each season. These categories should include: ~Total PKs in a season ~Total amount of winning spars in a season ~Total amount of bugs caught in a season ~Total amount of baddies killed in a season ~Total amount of towers taken in a season (defined as a player dealing the last hit and taking the tower) ~Total amount of gralats earned in a season (Does not include purchased gralats) ~Total amount of items looted in a season I feel like this would encourage some healthy competition. What I had in mind was the the winner each season would receive a gralat prize (I was thinking 10,000) and a unique badge on their profile. What I mean by this is an icon somewhere denoting them as a winner for a specific category. If they're lucky enough to win more than once, the badge will adapt a small x2,x3,x4,etc. in the corner. Badges would appear at the end of the player's name (before their guild and spouse), and can be toggled on and off in the options menu. What do you guys think? |

I don't think PK rewards should be given to anyone let alone mosh pit PK these days and this won't encourage healthy competition because everyone who wants to win a prize like you said 10000 gralats will just no life for it. Same with spar for those who hate sparring delayers and laggers it's just harder for them and only delayers would take advantage of the gralat prize because they're usually in the top 5 on both boards. Bugs I agree with, pretty cool & with loot. Baddies will become impossible to kill due to the fact everyone wanting to kill them, York will be over crowded and so for the caves making the 1k gralat quest thing a pain in the ass to complete. And a no to the badge thing, classic has always focuses on equality between players so everyone gets the same enjoyment, doing this would give some ass to brag in people's faces (take note of GST winner statuses, majority are complaints and bitchfits). |

And maybe you have a point with spar, pking, and baddy killing. Let's see what everybody else says though. |

I think its too many awards. It would be better if they combined all your examples(except tower thing) and used them to form a single rating. each game activity would give a set amount of points and then add them up to make some seasonal ranking. Would have to be well balanced and thought out to make it credible. Dont know what you would call it though. 'Most active member' rating? inb4 'The no-life rating' |

I had mentioned this on Classic when guild forts and leaderboards were first released as another way to recognize guilds not players, and I feel this would work far better, such as a guild "rank", which can still be deemed a competitive way to help grow a guild without getting a 1k or GST win. On the other hand, I wouldn't want this to be implemented to players as the killing categories have already thrown up problems, such as "nolifeism" and I feel that rewarding every single player with a badge is silly, just play the game. |
