oh hell no, i would much rather have an M16 cause of dat dat dat reload. Seriously, as an avid AEK user i can tell you, the most deaths i get with that gun is while reloading in close quarters.  

I like the ak 5c or whatever that first carbine is :p I'm still a level 11 noob but I was pretty decent at bf3 --> my bf3 battlelog (lol)

the AK5C is pretty good. I enjoyed using it.

I simply disagree. While they are put at a versatility, they do not excel where others do (Sniper > M16-al, long range) (Shotgun > M16-a1 short range).

dat grammar... anyways the shotguns and snipers, like I said, are specialty weapons. They excel in one type of engagement, no taking into account how difficult snipers are to use and how easy it is to suppress a sniper with your M16 and make him useless. Yes, the M16 does not excel in every engagement, but it does pretty damn well in most engagements. That's because it's a very well rounded weapon, and that is why it's very good.

You also have to use assault class, so anyone sporting an assault rifle is not going to have much to work with in terms of infantry vs vehicle.

that's not the argument, we're talking about why the M16, not the assault class as a whole, is the best primary weapon in the game.

Uh, I would rather have the M16 because if there are more than one targets and I need to reload I'm not boned. If I have to shoot down a long corridor I'm not boned. If I have to go outside afterwards and do long range shooting I'm not boned. Versatility. You can't predict every single engagement, so a versatile weapon (LIKE THE M16) is a very very solid choice.

What are the requirements? and what pack is that. Is it china rising? I really have been interested in the Desert Eagle (freaking OP pistol) and GOL  

GOL is from second assault and you need 1 sniper rifle ribbon and 5 kills from one of the towers on firestorm or caspian. You need both requirements in the same match I think.

The GOL is better for me because it has a quicker time to pull the bolt thing (idk what its called) than the SRR, which makes it good for peaking out from a wall and firing quickly  

I see all of the most long-ranged snipers seem to love the SRR but I dunno why, maybe bullet drop... The original rifle is just as good as the SRR on Hardcore mode, so there's got to be some reason they use it. GOL Magnum is super hard to get all of those kills in a single match, I've tried a few times and failed.

I have like so much else unlocked, though!

Speaking as a primary recon class, versatile sniper, hence my gamertag "sniper hearty" I would say that the SRR is a situation specific weapon.

It does pack some damage, allowing for easy mid range "finishing off with pistols". Anytime someone is packing an SRR I recommend using an accurate fast fire pistol such as an M9, Colt, or the first pistol. (using a heavy barrel or suppressor). The SRR is typically a long-range sniper, you know, the ones people use when sitting on a mountain or camping out on top of a rock. Best for the player who is controlling a MAV from the corner of a map, spotting people with his binoculars, and taking long range shots with his hunter scope and bipod.

I have each sniper set up with the attachments I like to use that suit the type of situation I use them in. For example, the M40A5 is my "urban snapshooter" rifle. I have it equipped with a 6x scope and a 12x. and a flash suppressor w/straight pull. This allows me to easy shoot down corridors and through windows and taking out rather close infantry while the rifle pack enough of a punch and accuracy in order to zoom up to 12.

Another example is the Recon 338. One of my favorite setups, this is my go to "stealth sniper". By utilizing a 6x scope, 7x, or 8x scope, a suppressor, a straight pull bolt, and a 12x variation- this sniper rifle is perfect for getting quick headshots from the side of the map. Useful with a radio beacon for remaining a stubborn threat that the enemy will have to weed out to completely eliminate, and binoculars for easy target acquiring and range measurements, or claymores to sneak in a set up a trap in enemy territory. Once you get used to the drop on this rifle, it provides the ultimate "behind-enemy-lines" saboteur and anti-sniper solider.

Awesome tips. My usual strategy is to be quick on the draw and play HC mode so it's easier to kill stuff.

M16 is one of my favourite guns with muzzle break and angled foregrip with either holo or acog. I can accurately take out people at distances of up to 200m, 300-400 if theyre standing still which is something you'd struggle to do with any other AR.
Also DMRs are underrated, I love them and have no trouble getting 50kills in an obliteration match with a silenced ace 52 sv with the ergo grip, not angled. I've found that your better off using the ergo since you can actually kill people in close quarters whilst strafing since by default dmrs moving accuracy is absolutely ****. I'd only use angled foregrip if you're only doing long range dmr shots but if not just use the muzzle break since the 30% accuracy penalty only applies for automatic firing, and dmrs are semi unless you spam as fast as they shoot which you shouldnt be doing anyway unless you have the sks or type 88 (which is also another beast dmr but looks ugly so i dont use it)

Same as me, always use the ergo grip, amazing attachment but most people don't use it due to its vague description. It increases hip fire and accuracy whilst ads and moving by 50% but the description makes you think just hipfire. If you're good at recoil control you don't need any barrel attachment besides the muzzle break, silencer if it's a small map since the 300m/s bullet velocity won't make a difference.
Best way to use the aek is to go no barrel and angled forgrip with a reddot. Ik i just said use ergo but just not for famas or aek since their firstshot recoil is to high

M416 probably go muzzle break, ergo and reddot, no rail unless you have the tac light.
Aug is also another good gun since it has a 600m/s bullet velocity and better moving whilst ads accuracy than other guns since it's bullpup

If you're just looking for a good class overall just to do well then go

Ak5c- flash hider, coyote, tac light, ergo/vertical grip. Amazing gun, almost no recoil, extremely good accuracy, good at all ranges, fast reload one of the best guns in the game
Desert eagle if you have it- reddot sight, nothing else since the iron sights don't always work, amazing gun for long range, I can take on snipers with it as long as they aren't on the otherside of the map.
If you don't have the deagle then just go the m9.
