By now I have given up on the slime shield because it looks like an object in the game. It looks close to Mario but I made it entirely myself based on the Mario mushroom. I tried submitting it but it says there is a copyright infringement. I'm getting mad that the admins are just taking quick glances at shields and putting something quick in there. As you can see in the photo below, there is differences between the mushroom in Mario and my mushroom. Also, if the Mario mushroom is under copyright, how are there exact copies of it that are public. You can check. Just go to Taylor Richards and search mushroom. Anyway, if an admin could help me here that would be great. :/

Just because it's on Taylor Richaard's does not mean it's still in the game. Sometimes things slip past but that doesn't mean it all should be allowed. Usually they are retroactively removed when discovered/reported.

I would probably allow yours since it's not ripped, but it depends on how seriously they take the copyright thing.

No, it's bs that shield was rejected. Yes, it resembles a Mario mushroom, but there's tons of shields/swords that resemble copyrighted material. As well as shields/swords that use copyrighted material.

And your other shield, there's no way it was rejected because it looked "similar" to in-game blobs. There are tons of shields/swords that use actual in-game graphics and have been around for a long time.

The problem is the submission system. The fact that whichever admin happens to be on gets to decide based on their own opinions is beyond flawed. It always has been, always will be. There's been plenty of threads on it. There's nothing you can do. Just keep submitting, until you get an admin who isn't clueless, or give up. There's nothing else you can do.

(And it's not just copyrighted material. There's so many great shields over time that have been removed or denied for such ridiculous reasons. There's just no point in trying)

And if this thread results in those mushroom shields already in-game being removed, then just kill me now.

(Yeah I'm bitter about this, can you tell?)

Oh, do you have an alternative for the upload system? That'd be cool. Unless your suggestion is to go fishing for mature unbiased adults in a community of children, then don't bother replying.

trying to upload a fan made shield from a game to game based on the same concept 0o0o0o0o0o  

Updated submissions guidelines would be nice.
They deleted my body a while back (for the third time) so I just stopped trying to re-upload. Took about a week and a half of trying to get a response as to why, and finally I got the answer that they had changed the guidelines and my design didn't fit into the ever-narrowing spectrum of allowable images.

On the one hand, there may be some inherent problem with the system, and the concept of too many cooks spoiling the broth.

On the other hand, one wonders if the uploads system is intentionally flawed so as to cause frustration and avoid overloading the server with upload requests for "MY AWESOME SHIELD.PNG" or "SUPER CUTE FAIRY WING SHIELD.GIF" or whatever passes as acceptable now...

Chances are, though, if you have an original idea that hasn't been made, you draw it yourself, and then approach with an upload, you will get to use it.
At least until some one comes along and deletes it or copies it and claims it was their own creation....

Admins aren't children (at least, they shouldn't be). You can't deny that there is a ridiculous amount of contradiction when it comes to deciding what an appropriate upload is. No, I don't have an alternative, per-se. But I think there needs to be some kind of unity when it comes to accepting or denying uploads. I don't think it should come down to one admin's opinion, when their opinions often differ so very greatly. Especially when it comes to deleting uploaded content that has been in the game for months, or even years.

Additionally, many people work very hard on some of these uploads, and when they're rejected for a ridiculous reason, or removed well after the fact for some "updated guideline infraction", it would sure piss me off. Especially given that Graal Classic is so much about customization and uploading.  

Wouldn't it be fair use because it's fanart? It's not like the game itself included it, it's why Mojang doesn't get sued for skins or sprite art resembling copyright characters.

Nothing like that ever happens on Minecraft and there's no legal issue whatsoever.
It's like getting into legal trouble because a Let's Player is getting adsense for playing a copyright game, it doesn't happen.

None of the images are being used to sell the game or to make money. It's fair use. It's always been fine before phone Graal, so I don't understand why it's not fine now.

It would be a whole different story if he took that mushroom sprite and turned it into a shield.
