Hotkey to Display Ping
I do like to monitor my ping constantly, and I think a hotkey would be a great way to avoid constantly saying "showlag" over and over. In League of Legends there is a function like this, and I think it would help here. Any comments feel free to post below of course. Something like alt+p or something of the sort ( I know ctrl is with emotes). I do see an issue present with this in the sense that mobile devices don't really have a way of hotkeying, so maybe an option to display ping constantly? Just a thought. Somewhere in the corner in smallish font would be optimal imo.

Or when you say "showlag," instead of a single measurement, have the message stay at the bottom of the screen for 10seconds and the number changes in real time.

I would like somethin for this to happen, though I would like small indicators representing your latency, green - good connection, orange - decent connection, and red - bad connection. Maybe an option to replace the colors for real time latency like micheal suggested.

There should be a button on the option button when you go to profile and u can mark off/on to have the latency on

The color code system is a good idea as well. I know in the LoL one, it displays your ping in # as well as color codes it to determine if it was good, alright, or bad. Now we just need more support and developer input.

Because typing 'showlag' is so frustrating to do...

Typing it several times repeatedly is. This doesn't sound hard to make in my opinion, and it isn't like it would affect anyone who doesn't want to toggle it. Like my initial post said, I like to constantly monitor my ping, and having to type showlag a ton is not optimal to me.

What if they implemented a time input for showlag; showlag - Shows it then disappears from the screen like it does now. showlag 0:00 -Allows a user to tell the server how long they want their ping to be displayed, in this case 1:00 would be an hour and 0:01 would be a minute. Then if you want to remove showlag before the time limit ends simply type showlag and it will overwrite the last input. |

I like Colin's idea as well. The only issue is in the programming of how often the ping updates on one's screen. Only issue that I can think of now unless someone knows something I don't about this (which could certainly be true).

It's quite possible to have it at the bottom of the screen, just need to enable it in options if you want it or not. Very possible actually, I'll try and script it o:
