It shouldn't be an exchange.
There need not be a trade system... or a gift system.
It goes against the nature of the holiday in general.
I've selected a few people to get gifts from mini games set up at my house/gh over the last while, which has been fun in and of itself, EXCEPT for the greedy kids who beg and beg and beg to get a gift...

Probably the same ones who will be standing around going "YOU FIRST NO SCAM" when the stalls finally pop up selling presents...
