How is this a thread to troll people? Might seem like it's bait to make christians mad, but they're kind of the same people who invented Satan to begin with, are they not?

If anything, Anton LaVey was one of the first people to troll christianity by making up an opposite set of rules and tenants to follow. Particularly rules that encourage self-reliance instead of servitude. (Which is very much in line with the way Lucifer is depicted in John Milton's Paradise Lost, considering that one of his most famous quotes is that "It is better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.")

Seems like a decent enough topic to me. :p

You do know that you don't have to believe everything in the Bible to be a Christian, right? You just described more the mindset of Catholics than Protestants. Catholics believe(from my personal understanding) that if you do this wrong or you don't do this, then you go to Hell. In a way like karma I guess.

Yet if you're saved, everything will be alright.

Actually as long as you are truly sorry at judgement you should be ok as long as it's not something serious like murder or rape (I guess those are good ones to note)

They also say that if you aren't christian and you live an alright life you should be good as well. I'm not sure why people think Catholics are strict in rules, they really aren't.

As you probably already know, satanism has been labeled a bad thing by the bible. But, after proper translation of the bible, it seems like the opposite, as Christianity seems like the worse of the two. It seems, according to Christianity, that if you rebel against something that you don't believe in, you are automatically a bad person. To me, this seems to be much like a dictatorship, and satanism like a democracy. Although there are flaws in both argument, I choose to not follow any set of religious rules, as religious people tend to be very stubborn regarding this topic.

There's a book called YOUCAT written by the previous pope, Pope Benedict. He answers many questions about our faith. You seem to have this mindset that if you don't believe in one tiny detail in the Bible, we're going to die. That's not how we are at all. You should stop making assumptions based off of what you've heard from other people. A question asked in YOUCAT is if we can believe in the theory of evolution and still be Catholic. Simply put, the answer is yes. God is not going to leave us to rot if we are homosexuals, or if we believe in the theory of evolution. Seriously, open your mind and start to learn a little more about our religion. Your view on it seems to be a bit chaotic.

Also, look around you. People who aren't even Catholic are living good lives as good people. They're unknowingly following the Ten Commandments. If you're not Catholic or Christian, then maybe you won't follow the first three, but the other seven are just basic ways of being good people. Just because you're an atheist does not mean you have to rebel against everything we say. The Ten Commandments say to respect our parents, to not commit adultery, not to steal, not to murder, and more. These are just basic things we should follow as people, no matter what religion we are. If you aren't Christian, does that mean you're just going to be disrespecting your parents? Cheating on every girlfriend you have? Stealing left and right? Killing every other person you see? No. None of these things are good things to do, not just as Christians, but as people in general.

Yeah seriously, I don't know why everyone thinks Catholics think that if you don't follow a simple rule, you're going to hell. If you work at a foster home, work with disabled kids, volunteer at senior centers, save abandoned dogs and cats, and raise money to get cleaner water in Africa, but you don't believe in God, does that mean you're to hell? You guys are the only people saying yes, but to us Catholics, as long as you live a good life and are a good person, you'll be good. But stuff that's serious like multiple murders or multiple rapes are things you need to ask forgiveness for.

Yes, you will go to hell (add a "we don't know whether you will or not, only God knows"). Why should you be rewarded in both this life and after life when you didn't believe in God or did not follow what he has given you to follow? If you do good in this life but don't believe in God and such, you will be rewarded in this life only - but not in the afterlife.

Religion is a meh-topic to have a conversation about over a forum. I'd rather to only talk about religions in personal because I respect peoples religious opinions/views way too much to bother with trolls, not implying there are a few trolls here though. Everyones got their own way and view.

Well, that's not what the Catholic Church teaches. As long as one follows His law He will be satisfied. Whether the person believed or was even aware of Him being an idea. Its a bit confusing, even I don't understand it fully. The Catholic God is one of mercy, it's kind of what He does.  

How about instead of arguing whose idea of religion is superior like a bunch of idiots, we all just abandon this thread and be on our seperate ways?

Who's arguing about a superior religion? As far as I can see we are discussing, comparing and contrasting various beliefs. It's a civil conversation.

Sometimes you don't know that your acting stupidly. Also calling someone of yourself stupid is usually a diagnosis or judgement. And narrow minded from the bigger picture. Seems like a couple things listed on Santana commands are diagnosis of character that are really just relative to what side of the bed you woke up. Nothing is forever, judgement is relative and is not credible.

Catholics are all about rules and repentance. That's why they have confession while other religions don't. They believe that there's a lot of stuff which counts as sin, but even if you repent on your deathbed, you may be forgiven.

However, Catholics in particular are starting to change their views a lot. It's mostly due to scandal in their church (let's not go into that) and the fact that they are alienating people from it. Pope Francis is probably one of the best representatives the church has had in recent years, because he understands that The Holy Bible is not a living text meant for a literal interpretation, but partly a book of history, laws, and stories about morality. There are many laws that we do not take literally today because it would be crazy to do so. (No working on Sunday, no eating shrimp, no touching women when they are menstruating, no wearing clothes with more than one type of fabric, etc.)  

Im christian buti think some of the satanic laws have a point such as dont hurt children.
