but you are right, IF they CAN read it, i should rather just call them gigantic ****ing assholes, and that probably wouldnt be an insult seeing how they act. but then this thread isnt for them either.

I have heard tons of good things about v6 when it comes to the development side. I figure that's probably a higher priority than anything OP is talking about.

Not really.

UPD attacks never presented itself as a problem during the lifespan that UDP was a part of the client.

After V6, you can acquire any player's IP through a PM. You can also force them to download ANY file from any web server. You can literally make someone to download an 8GB Linux ISO. You don't need to do any memory editing or modifying of the client to do it, either. That's way worse than the potential for a UDP attack.

how is development a higher priority than the experience of players?
you can create a server however good, or how to say, if people could hardly even play on it. plus whats the developer:player ratio? im pretty sure change in the development side doesnt affect nearly as much people.

and sorry fishbowl person, im not here to get liked, or get sympathy or anything. i will probably disappear from here in a bit anyway. you can hate me if you want of course.
i just wanted to point some attention towards the client, and maybe get people actually doing something against/for it. if i only cared to write a short, insignificant post, it would be less likely to achieve anything. i thought some people will take the time to read it, and not make prejudice.. or what, about it being long, and me being "mad".

maybe the problem is that people here dont care about the pc clients, so they dont think its any important what happens with them. well, sorry, but as i wrote, i cant post on the official forums, and stefan and stephan dont reply to any email or ticket.

Developers=content=money. That's the priority.  

The development tools for graal client have not improved in years. The v6 game client upgrade was hated by most of the creative team on our server.
It's 2015 and we're still renaming our tilesets to 8-bit .gifs because the LAT tools do not support png files.

The idea that the people running graal even remotely want to support its content creators is pretty preposterous given how little they have looked at the actual tools.

Some players may look up to devs, and some devs may look down on players, but everyone is equally low to Graal's actual staff.

It does support PNG, you just have to index the PNG's first. Not saying this makes it better, the tools are very outdated and it's frustrating... but just letting you know you don't have to use GIF. Also, I hope you don't index/GIF your tilesets at a loss to compression instead of just having two tilesets: one for development and one for server use that's uncompressed.

I'm sorry, I must have forgotten that everything was perfect during v5 and nothing ever went wrong. v5 Graal players were perfect angels.

There's a big difference between making someone download something and a DoS attack. One targets players while the other targets the server itself.

thats not really true. graal wouldnt even have to create any new content, and players would still play every day for years. and buy crap for real money too. thats how mmos, and other games work. unless everyone suddenly achieves everything on graal they would have ever wanted including items, friendships, ranks, etc, and still they wouldnt want to keep playing because no new content would be made, thats maybe when graal couldnt make money.
and unless a player actually plays only to see new content he expects, which he cant even know before its released, they will keep playing for whatever goals they want to reach, and likely keep playing if they spent the time reaching them.

that is, unless the clients and servers get ruined, so they cant play like how they actually expected to keep playing. changing up things does the exact opposite of keeping players who wanted anything long-term with graal...

plus, offline games (mostly) dont get new content, and people can still keep playing tens of years old games if they have enough something to play for.

and if they wanted money, they wouldnt have made everyone have gold accounts, or something similar, without paying....

well, then good thing what people do has nothing to do with the client.
abusing whatever functions doesnt justify removing most of the options from the client. who abused fullscreen, which can even be done still, just harder, buggier and ****tier? and who abused the letters i cant use anymore? or the original ingame window style? or not connecting to facebook for the login server, etc...

Ps nothin will get done cause this game makes enough money with having no updates except some hats that aren't even made wit correct demensional or focal point.

a version of the other thread, but for the weaker minded. (which most of the forum is, it seems.)

Graal v5/v4: everything perfect. at least as much as in the previous versions.

Graal v6:-most of the options removed
-no fullscreen
-no original "Default" theme
-connects to facebook servers on login
-LESS support for foreign characters
(-slower)

if you want to argue about any of this not being valid or whatever, go to the other thread first where i already expressed WHY these are important, and WHY these ruin graal. oh wait, you probably cant read that.
and this thread is now more than two lines... well, i hope at least the most intellectual ones on here can still read this somehow.
