I liked ASC, I had it on my other laptop, though it caused issues with Graal when I ran defrag options. I just went with Avira that MattKan suggested, so far I like it.

Malwarebytes free is a little lackluster but I have really liked malwarebytes premium. It's also very easy to find lifetime premium codes on certain places on the internet.

I use 360 Total Security, not really sure what is so special about it but it gets the job done. Its also rated pretty nicely, check it out here: http://www.360totalsecurity.com/en/ |

Please dont use avast. Panda is your best bet, its a great free tool and a lot of tech support companies use the tools it provides. (Works in tech support) To be honest the best anti virus protection is yourself, I use no anti virus and have never had an infection because I pay attention when I download things. 100% of malware is preventable from the users themselves.

I honestly wouldn't trust any of these free bits and pieces that you've never heard of before. In my experience, they nearly always fail to do their job properly. I reccomment Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). It's bundled into Windows 8/8.1, so you don't need to install it if you're on anything above Windows 7. If you're on Windows 7 or below, you can download it here. It's free, lightweight and does its job very well. I also recommend running a MalwareBytes scan once a month, which can also be downloaded for free. It'll pick up anything that MSE misses as no anti-virus software out there is 100% perfect. If you're hell-bent on spending money on anti-virus, your best bet is AVG. (Also works in IT if that adds any kind of 'stamp of approval')
