I had that, to fix it you must dig to the left of the cliff, like as close to the cliff as you can.

If you go to york, and head down with the rails towards swamptown, when you reach the bandits (the invisible rail) stop and it should be there (just before you turn up to bandits)

They made it so you can get a map in a bottle while looting. Hope that helps you guys find maps easier.

Someone just clear this for me, you get the maps of baddies, you go to the location and dig something up, what happens to the map afterwards

Once you dig up the treasure the map leaves your inventory.
