Care to specify on how it's hard? What are you having trouble with exactly?

Don't sign up for any sports clubs if you know you're not gonna be able to make it through, trust me. I tried out for Cross Country when I was a freshman in HS and it almost killed me. |

See if there's any crossfit studio in your area. I joined mine a year or so ago when I was just a little shrimp. The changes that have occurred in that year are staggering, well worth the time and money. The workouts strain just about every part of your body almost every single time you go in. Completing just one of their workouts is an achievement for most. As soon as you get used to the type of exercises they throw at you it's so rewarding, and gets you in shape faster than you'd think was possible.

If it's hard, lower the weights....no need to be embarrassed looking weak in front of others, because at one point they were doing the same thing!

Don't rush yourself either. Everyone works best at their own pace. |

I've started doing a little bit of weight lifting myself to stay fit and relieve anxiety, and here's stuff I've learned so far:
Hope some of that helps. I'll probably post more if I can think of other good tips. And always remember, stress is the feeling of weakness leaving your body. No pain no gain and all that jazz. ;D |

Seriously start with lighter weight, if you can't lift it, its too heavy. I had a friend who had to use a curl bar for bench because he couldn't lift a barbell. After a few weeks he was able to lift heavier, just pace yourself. Also, just to save you from crossfit before Nabu steals all your potential gains, here is an information video based on pure science, and years of health research. |

That's pretty good. Do try to work with free weights a little bit if you can too, and try to tone each muscle group. Like a lot of other lifting techniques, bench pressing uses several at once. You'll probably be using far less weight if you use free weights, though, because you won't have a bench supporting you while standing up and weight is put on each arm individually. Make sure to do the same number of reps for each arm too, obviously. https://www.indianbodybuilding.co.in/Articles/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/inc-bench.jpg (Unsupported image host) |
