You know your graal addiction is bad when you actually want to make things worse just in order to have something to do. I don't like the ideas simply because I think it's dumb to make people constantly buy/fix tools..



If you want to make suggestions to tools try to think of ways to improve them.

Example:

Shovel: I hate the freeze time, would be nice to work your way up to a shovel that is super fast.

Lantern: When I was guarding the entrance at Sardon's for Silver(13) I used to love using the lantern fire balls. Only thing that sucked was that they died fast. Working your way up to a lantern that generates faster or shoots more fireballs would be nice.


Net: I'm probably one of the worse bug catchers, so being able to work my way up to a bigger net would be cool.


Flippers: You can work your way up to flippers that increase your speed while in the water.

Like I said it's not a constant thing, where you go fix items after like 10 times of use... no.

All of your examples just make the game easier, that's the problem with you people. You want the game to be easier and non-challenging.

Shovel: So you want to dig faster by upgrading? That would ruin the treasure chest events... wouldn't be fair for those who can't dig as fast as others.

Lantern: Not sure if this is a good idea. I think the fireball has more range than a sword, so letting you spam it more seems cheap.

Net: Upgrades would let you catch rarer bugs, maybe bigger bugs, but not let you catch them easily by having a huge net that covers more ground... that would make bug catching too easy.

Flippers: Then what would be the point of mounts that go over water?

Shields

It would be nice if shields actually had a purpose on graal.

Your shield cracks every time you block x amount of hits from a baddy,(makes it easier not challenging since you can't block them atm) and breaks after it's durability is depleted. It all depends on the baddy and your shield level. If your shield breaks, and you die from a baddy, you are warped to a safe area nearby. You can repair your shield before it breaks(killing baddies without getting hit, nice. Definitely not easier). You can't block a hit while using sword.

You would need certain items to repair your shield, and after repairing it x amount of times, the next time you go to repair Damascus will come up with and idea to fortify/upgrade your shield. Damascus will give you a quest asking for the necessary materials for the upgrade.(oh yes, the challenging part, QUESTS!!!!! Yeah because classic has some pretty challenging quests) This might just be the following route for all other items that I will discuss about next.

Why shield? Damascus needs more items, and it would give baddy killing a much better experience than just boringly spamming sword.(it would be the same thing, but now the shield would prevent damage) You will have to evade as much as you can, that would also help people get better at pking/sparring(lol), and no the shields can't be used in spar.


Flippers

I'm not too sure about adding a durability for this one, but it sounds nice. After using your flippers to dive x amount of times, they become unsuitable for diving. You then have to talk to damascus, repair enough times, materials, etc.

Every time you upgrade your flippers their durability is increased.

Why flippers? Just Damascus purpoose
(where's the challenging part?) Oh right the quest

Swords

Sword breaks after slashing x amount of times, I know it should be by contact, but idk how good graal devs are, so just by slashing.

Every time you upgrade you can do more damage, maybe adding more hearts(that wouldn't be "fair" to noobs) would be a good thing? Maybe not just more damage towards baddies.

Upgraded swords and shield won't work in spar.


Goggles

Same as flippers


Lanterns

He already upgraded it, but if day/night system were ever added, then Damascus can upgrade it by letting the lantern emit more light/last longer.

or maybe Damascus can let you buy different types of lanterns. If you want to see more, maybe to find more bugs, protect more from baddies at night, then you buy the lantern that emits more light.

but if you are going out at night for a longer period, then you want the one that it's light lasts longer.
So you want them to make it easier for you to catch bugs at night? Where's the challenging part?


Other items

Bug net. Increased durability? Yeah man, them cockroaches are savages, tearing through the net. Bigger/Rarer bugs can be caught.
Your net is too small to catch bigger/rare bugs, you need a bigger net :o
Shovel, I don't even know if this should even be included... all you can find are worms... Maybe giving you a higher chance to find worms? If you have any ideas for the shovel, post it.
More challenging or easier?
Bow? Increased arrow travel distance? I know it could be reduced, and then forcing an upgrade.
Great!!! You want to make it easier to spam pk mobs from a far distance? Nice


How to get materials

Looting, cutting down trees (if classic adds that), talking to certain npcs, buying them from a shop(too challenging) (could cost a lot, thus raising graal's income), map/chests.


Adding all of this would make these activities more enjoyable, after doing it over and over. The upgrades could take hours to days to weeks, depending on what it is, and the next level you are going to. I'm not sure if each item should have a level cap. What do you think?

When you were socializing playing dress-up outside the arena I was in swamptown challenging myself against greenarrow and the deadmouse guild, I was in the zone challenging myself against 2 of the best pkrs in classic (BlackStar and ForktheSkywalker) and not to mention the countless of other pkrs like kill bill, yonchan, bart, and Z, I was challenging myself against the spar community of 2011 (I failed, but at least I got my golden helm), towered with HK while doing minimal noob recruiting in order to challenge our self's (maybe not, me and bart hated noobs). Point of the rant is that I found my own challenges in classic I didn't need the server to do it for me. Nothing in your ideas will make it challenging. Unless you consider wasting time challenging then I guess you're right.

Wouldn't that be motivation of working for a better shovel? I would want it for selfish reasons, such as digging up snowballs quickly, so my fellow snowballers could work quickly. People that collect worms would probably benefit from it.

Not everyone is a pro bug catcher. The main reason I even try to catch bugs is to have fun and not for money making purposes. I'm probably one of the worst bug catchers on the server, so having a bigger net would make it more enjoyable. The worse part about being a bad bug catcher is scarring them away and having some angry noob chase you down :cries:

I didn't know those were made with the intention of making looting easier. I don't have one and I don't know how expensive they are, but I know free flippers that do the same thing are better for me and all the newbie players that might not have one or can't afford one.

Swords breaking is the stupidest idea yet, not one issue or complaint has come about as the swords acting up in any way. Why try to make something better when it is perfect as it is? Also what if your sword breaks mid spar? Or maybe in a GST situation and your sword breaks mid spar causing your whole team to lose because of this horrible idea. Besides pking would suck because you would have to replenish your sword whenever you get 100-200pks this is a extremely bad idea and i don't think 90% of the spar/PK community would want this either.  

Aguzo, you really want Classic to go extinct from too much lag, don't you?

Client doesn't have that, at least not on UN. It was more of a dark souls idea, but only towards baddies. I would have really liked to have a huge boss on classic, that players would need a better sword/shield to attack/defend.  

While we're at it lets added classes and skills and masteries rofl!
