Is Graal getting Better or Worse?
Thread is unnecessarily/maybe a little bit necessarily long. Including this sentence. I always make the weirdest threads at 12 am, and next day I wake up and realize nothing will change (Pessimistic?) I used to love this game... Learning how to spar, farm, and pk... Getting my first gst item... Getting my first gst win... But that all changed... Most of the events I see (if they even host when I'm on) are just chance... Just being able to join requires luck. More staff hosting events? Just give them event powers? Not sure if event powers is a thing, but why are there not that many staff hosting events? It feels like 1 event per day... and it's almost always chance. Winning gst got boring after all the good teams were beaten. Now, it's basically just for "fun" with lag. I guess most of the issues that drained the fun of the game, revolve around the server lag. CTF was never brought back. How long has it been? 2? 3 years? I'm glad that the new "prizes" for the leaderboards were added. Same goes for the library nexus, and I realize that the main priority is food on the table. But, the game is getting pretty boring. It feels like a grinding rpg (no-lifing for the top) at this point, and without the mmo, because the ghost on the top of my screen won't let me. I for one have never had a problem with there being a lot of people around, on my device. So can that be turned into an option, instead of a forced one? I want to see the other players... feels like I'm the only one playing sometimes. Will the guild system ever be revamped? Players keep asking, and insisting. Unix needs to start paying his devs... this game has a lot more potential, and I'm not sure if the main devs get paid (I think they do), if not, then some cash would really fasten up the proccess. Will houses ever have house slots? Maybe a box where you can store all of the furniture you aren't using? We really need more space to store more items. Or just an option to drop all items from inventory on to the level, instead of placing one by one =_= Houses having leaderboards, where other players can give you ratings? Aguzo in city: "Rate house please!" When will there be a dedicated guild house in which all members of the guild can buy and place furniture, and have rooms that can be claimed by members? When will guilds have the option to let players join by having the guild open? When will Aguzo stop asking so many questions, and let devs do their work? Probably the only thing you actually ask yourself. Do we need to send unix a direct email for him to react? Maybe I give the devs too much credit, and they aren't as skilled as I cut them out to be? Am I wrong for thinking that after making a climbable ladder, you will then start making floors that you can walk over no matter where you place them around the level? That would really help out with house expansions, and players can just do it themselves. Imagine there being one Huge Fort inside a player's house, plus the actual house which would be integrated as part of the fort. Will singles tourney ever be a thing? I wouldn't mind if only the active players that are currently placed on the leaderboard get the chance to participate. I'd just be glad that they got to do it, even if I don't get the chance to. Achievements? That was hushed like Kim Jong Un's hydrogen bomb... I guess aguzman being captured again and the fact that coco (only female staff I know besides crono) el dustyo was probably involved in making a film about aguzman, is more important than achievements. I don't know, I just want to have something to do. Something that requires you to check back in game from time to time. Repeatable Quests? What do you guys think? Are you truly satisfied with the game currently? I know that the library nexus was just released, and maybe the devs worked hard for that. I am not taking their hard work for granted, I appreciate what they do, but a lot of people, including myself, feel that the game is dying. Sure the player count is increasing, but it looks like Graal will become that one game that you come back after 2 years, maybe play for a week, and leave, because you realize that the game is still boring. I don't want graal to be boring. I never gave this game a review, but I will give it 5 stars, even if the player count is too high for the server. This game managed to keep me here for 6 years. Can't say that for every other game I've played. Hopefully, devs listen more to their players, let players vote for other players' ideas, to see what the majority like/want for the game. A similar system as the questionnaire that was done ?months? ago. Again, having fun or no? Made a ton of errors on the poll questions like the "/or"... and some missing words, but I agree with most of them (including the career one, and hopefully I make up my mind on what I want to pursue... soon... family pressure is on, so I wrote that one :p) |

You grossly underestimate how long it takes to produce content.

So, first of all, I think you have gotta internalize the fact that this is volunteer work. They have careers of there own that they have to progress in, activities they enjoy that aren't graal related. For how many people work on graal that I know of, I'm surprised at how much they are able to do. For example, a couple days ago Dusty was able to add a easy way to stop the hats from rotating, hours after I posted the thread about it. Plus you think about all the bugs they have to fix, tile errors that need fixing, and hats that have to be made, it is a constant. So I think you have to appreciate that for what it is. That doesn't mean I have low expectations of them, I scrutinize their work and if I think it's bad I let my thoughts be heard. But it's like art in a way, you shouldn't really whine about it, you should give constructive criticism. Sorry about the rant/whiteknight, but tired of seeing the Dev's get flack for the pace at which they produce content. |

I can appreciate the change in pricings and content of recent times, where it used to be "AYYLMAO REVOLUTION IS OPEN EACH HAT IS 10K" -- or something like that. Honestly, when I joined a year after Classic launched on iOS, nothing new was being released in any way, shape or form. But yes, CTF needs to be brought back. Seriously. You just sound personally burnt out. |

I don't know how good the devs are, so I am not sure how long it should take them. Babord seems like a nice new area, but right now the main priorities should be, "Are the players enjoying the game?" I am not, and was wondering what everyone else's take on the matter is. Judging by the poll answers, people aren't seeing improvements. By improvements they don't mean, new hats, and furniture. They mean improvements to the system. Anytime someone suggests something, it's always "yes, but this might cause lag", while the devs say that it won't, but never do it, or say it's pointless. Is it really? Where is graal's replay value? It's currently at 0, unless you call getting gralats for more hats, replay-ability. Not talking about new graphics either, so Babord can be on hold for now. I mean, do we really need another area that will cause another week/month of server lag, die out after a few weeks, and then everyone goes back to graal city, which is the main theory of "what causes the lag?"
I am talking about improvements, not some new hat/furniture. I like the new nexus, but it's not a game changer. Anyone saying things like this is pretty much yanking at this point. If the script team isn't getting paid, then they should. I believe they do, even if they say that they don't. It can go from volunteer to a full-time job, and maybe then they will improve the game in ways that people keep asking for. |

And graal probably doesn't make enough to be able to pay the bills of it's scripting team. I seriously doubt it makes an extra 150,000 dollars(assuming you would only pay Rufus, fp4, and Dusty) a good salary. Even if it did make that much, I doubt Unix would give it up. Maybe it does, and im unreal about their profits, not that we'll ever know. Just post your idea and move on, if they like them they'll do something with it. |

The devs say "It's because of the crowds in graal city." Plus, Facebook is not optimized/is outdated to run graal without lag at this point. iPad runs fine for everything on Graal. I can be zoomed out, and have more than 100 players shown at the same time, and still be able to have no frame drops. The main problem is that Graal's server is for all of the iServers together, when there are too many players on the server crashes, anything involving a sword, a net, or farming takes longer/isn't as enjoyable. If Graal's current server supports up to 16,000 players, then there should be a separate server just for iClassic, and maybe one for iEra as well. It's sad, because every good idea always gets shot down or declined, because of the lag it would apparently cause. |

I'd recommend you learn a bit more about networking before you make the complaint that there is """Server lag""""

Your posts are all over the place; you could probably just summarize it by saying that we don't get enough 'game changing' updates. At least that's how I'm going to take it, and I'd agree with you. At the same time however, the staff team also has to deal with things like criticisms for not having content put out for 2 weeks while Nexus was being worked on so I'm curious as to how you think it is viable for long-term bigger projects to be worked on. This is why I said that you grossly underestimate how long it takes to produce content, because regardless of the 'skill' of the people involved, things still take time. Moreover, you seem to hold a belief that if an update doesn't appeal to you or isn't within your own little bubble then it holds no value. This is a very easy trap to fall into, but ultimately one which is wrong. There is a diverse amount of players on the game, the majority of which are here to socialize and dress up, like it or not. There is a huge amount of feedback for hats shops to be updated, for Nexus to open (you can actually see this on Graalians too) etc. I don't expect you to have read this because how could you? Most of it is in-game feedback and Graalians is a minority group. Still, would you say that such demands don't hold much value compared to yours? |

When the fire nation attacked.
Players hardly ever played it. There were always less then 10 players in CTF at any given time and who knows how many were there only to boost. The only reason anyone cares is because it was removed.
Revamping entire systems that are firmly established already isn't very easy. That's not even touching on planning out every single detail to make sure it's something that's viable and addresses everything that needs to be fixed/added. No.
Even with the most skilled of developers content still takes time.

Worse.. and will always be aslong as hats/event-party-shops etc are the priorities. You can say about stuff taking long to make all you want but there is like a hell of alot on game (some in 'Hope of server progress'-or something like that thread that was made in 2012) And litrally like maybe 1thing has been done out of it so don't give that bs of it taking ages to make stuff when real houses or even friking towns are made in that time. heres thread. http://www.graalians.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12277 you can also say players give bland idea like 'do fishing or whatever'. but most nonono ALL of that list is litrally everything you/high staff have put into game so must of had idea of what was for and it isn't that it takes time it that you couldn't be arsed doing any of it in the end.plain and simple don't sugarcoat everything. |
