Factions can be expanded on heavily in the future, if done right. I think factions should be randomly assigned to each player once they reach x hours, x PKs, and x spars. The requirements wouldn't be big, but would require the players to be somewhat invested in the game basically and get rid of random noob accounts being assigned to factions and never being used. For example, 150 hours? 1,000 PKs? 50 spar wins (or just maybe 100 spars participated in)? Each faction can have their own symbol (could make a flag item, hat, body, etc. with each faction's symbol/colors). I imagine there would be a base on different sides of the map for each faction, and by a base, I'm thinking more of a tower. Factions attack each other & defend their own faction. You can join the action any time, and leave any time to do whatever you want in the game. You can enable certain alerts when your faction's tower is being attacked (when players get to a certain floor, or get the "flag" of the tower down to a certain #). Plus general PKs on other factions get certain points, and after x amount of points, your faction gets the boost (which is why I think it should replace classes). I think PK should be normal, and when your faction gets x points, the your faction members get the boost that you would have gotten from the classes. There's quite a bit that could be expanded on this... CTF would be a great bot-event every 2 hours or so for the factions to compete against each other for more points. The ideas are endless, as long as it's done correctly.
