What would be cool instead of being able to choose your own weapon, would be if there were different spar arenas. These could be an ice arena (so that you slip and slide around), an obstacle arena (have walls or boxes randomly scattered around), or an arena that allowed you to use all of your weapons (bow and bomb having 10 each.)

This idea and your ideas both run in the same vein; scaling out gameplay elements by giving them some level of variety that doesn't require reinventing the wheel.

Yeah. I feel like it could be a fun addition. However, if these kind of things were implemented ever there would probably be an uproar in the sparring community.
It would have to be its own separate activity with a separate points system.

Maybe instead of having a points system, they could have a system similar to what Graal the Adventure has with events. If you win a certain amount of times you get "X" amount of tickets that could be exchanged for a prize later.
These spars could be changed into a type of arcade.
Though the only problem with that would be the population of grail all trying to grind for something at the same time (if it ever were to be created like this.)
