Client side storage

So I have this program on the computer that lets you see all the contents of your iPod and I was looking through GRAALs folder and I was amazed. It seems like every single sword/shield/hat/item/guild pic/ anything on graal that you see is on there, stored directly on the device. I can see that this would speed up map loading, but it takes up a hell of a lot of space on my 8gb iPod. Comments?

Settings>General>Usage>Graal
The app size is 22.9 mb and the "Documents and Data" are 138 mb. So 161 mb total. >:0

That still isn't that much of a problem. Everytime you log in on facebook you have to wait for everything to load when you walk by it. I'd prefer they keep the iphone the way it is.

It just caches everyone youve seen... Once i deleted the cache and it just re rendered all the ones i saw afterthat

It´s the way the game works. It´s the same for the PC version. Just reinstall the app to get rid of all old / rarely used files.

Would take even longer to load the app if it was all server side, considering all the data it has to reload.

I don't think you understand how the game works.

Everything you see - shields, swords, graphics - are all stored on your iPod. Things you do NOT see are not downloaded for you to store. This allows for a faster connection and game integration and enjoyment.

Think of what it would be like if the game were entirely server-side. You'd have to download every image, graphic, etc., EVERY time you saw someone with new graphics. The load time would be annoying.

Liken it to every OTHER game that utilizes graphics - either you store data on your PC, or you enjoy a long load time.

In the grand scheme of things, the Graal folder is surprisingly small.

Plus Stefan did some coding to make it clean itself out sometimes, I think, so it's not really that big of a deal.
