What's your definition of "fun"?

To me, dungeon crawling games are fun. Is that what you like?

Just,
1. not worrying about getting all the achievements for all the games
2. not having to check if the game has any issues, before buying

I just want games that I can start up anywhere, where I can set my own goals, and have a lot of replay value. XboxO, Ps4, and PC just feel repetitive.

I've always had fun with every mario and zelda game. Only version of pokemon that I've played is pokemon red.

All the new console games just feel the same to me. Just another shooter, or another version of tomb raider. I like tomb raider, but once you beat it, it's over. The story is nice, but isn't really the same as playing zelda, where even if you beat the game, you can still try to get all the chests you missed, or areas you haven't been to yet, because you didn't have a certain item before.

I've played enough CoD. My favorites were CoD4 and MW2 for their multiplayer, and WaW for the original zombie mode and maps. The companies are adding too many things to their games, and it gets overwhelming.

Can't complain about Dark Souls or Gears of War 1-3 multiplayer. Epic Games ruined it with judgment.

I'm mostly into 3rd person games, I guess. Anything having to do with adventuring via solving puzzles. Maybe it's just for the nostalgia. The only game I have ever liked where you gather materials is Monster Hunter. The only console that can pkay the newest monster hunter games is on the 3DS.  

Then yeah. Get the New 3DS.
It has some of the most polished games ever so the games are bug free.

Some I can recommend based on your taste are the Bravely series.
It's a dungeon crawling game with a few puzzles here or there. (though don't expect too much) It's pretty much a Final Fantasy game with a really cool battle system.

If you're into strategy games, then play Fire Emblem Awakening first, then move on to Birthright.
No, the games do not connect, but Awakening is more directed to newer audiences and easier.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a vast open world game originally made on the Wii and ported to the New 3DS. It is a really fun game to be able to play on the go if you don't mind the muddy graphics and some frame drops here or there during big battles.

Resident Evil: Revelation. If you haven't play this on the console or PC yet, then play it on the 3DS. The graphics rivals the consoles and it's pretty fun.

Newer Pokemon games. I don't see a need to explain this since you should know about it already.

If you are into button smashing fighting games then play One Piece: Unlimited World Red.

If you're into farming games like Harvest Moon mixed with an adventure RPG style, then play Rune Factory 4.
