So this thread has no intention of persuading anything/anyone. I'm just curious what themes people want with the new tileset - even if you know it won't happen.  

I wouldn't pick high tech because that is what zone already tried I chose Apocalyptic because it would be different and unique.

Zone tried apocalyptic but it just ended up looking like Era with futuristic weapons, like even worse than now.  

I liked the vision I had with my tileset I was working on, but my execution was terrible.

Well, when I think of high-tech, I think of Tron-like. That's what I was going for without actually saying Tron lol. Zone's really not futuristic at all currently, so I figured high-tech would be a valid option for people to choose. I agree that high-tech isn't enough, though. The tileset Tash was having made was Apocalyptic styled. I wasn't a fan of it, though. It seemed really bland since Apocalyptic worlds are usually dull.

Was a moonbase tileset. Had about 10% of it done until I abandoned ship. Only people who I recalled did anything for it was Isaac and Nanner. Meaty made something for it too but progress was extremely slow.

If they made it that futuristic oh it would have been so great. But all the kept with was grey and blue and space ships! That's definitely futures-ish like

Just saying but I have an odd suspicion that this new gmap won't even be a skyworld.

Thing about this options they all can kind of connect to one another i.e Planets only..some maybe high tech, some might not be normal modern type and some could be even apocalyptic X_X plus the other space option with spaceships-I surmise they'd be involved also in the planet only one or are we flying there on our bikes lol (I get what you mean though as in on spaceship fly here fly there but majority on a set spaceship?) I think best option is just planets itself(easier for staff to implement) and players can then chose where they like best and go there-If this is case though they need bases apart i.e each planet having 1 so people go there and spread shops out.  

Yeah i think sticking to strictly one theme is a bad idea, limits creativity. There should be a general theme but it should be a bit relaxed when it comes to certain things like weapons
