It is. Thank you, I'd never heard of an editor other than PyGame.

Just be careful which version of the IDLE you're downloading. I believe Codecademy uses Python 2.7 which has a slightly different syntax to the latest version. You can still download the Python 2.7 from the website or you could use an online IDE like this one.

So I wrote this line of code in the codeacademy thing just to mess around. Is it alright or even right?

return addthree + 3
def total(number):
if number == 5:
print "Is equal to five"
else:
print "Its not five"

total(5)

The spoiler takes out the whitespace but it looks great so far, keep going!  

I wouldnt suggest learning from internet. Learn from a real programmer in real life. You will understand faster

Getting an actual teacher can be useful but also costly, not everyone knows someone who's willing to dedicate the hours to helping you out.

While it's the information isn't always spot on, the internet is a great resource for learning to code - even the most experienced developers use it to research anything they aren't sure about. Getting a tutor might be faster but learning from resources such as Codecademy is far cheaper and far more accessible.

No need to pay them. Tell them you will help them out with programming if they teach you first
