I'm not sure if someone has stated this already I know some people brought this up but none the less. I think all the lead admins should go talk about making a completely new website with questions they can change if they want and even sometimes they could randomize so it's not the same thing over and over so you get more of a rundown on their personality. I think there are a lot of people who would be staff who would be a good match. I think the application is a bit vague and should be updated.

I got into a warper for bush race... which warped me into a wall. Then I used the warp ring and it caused me to be stuck in a "hands up" pose when I had appeared for about 30 seconds. Then I ran back to the same spot the warper was and watched it despawn as it reached capacity. Needless to say, no hat. (Also not the first time lag and glitchiness has caused issues similar to this) |

This discrepancy is something we will try to avoid in the future. Currently deciding between requiring staff to declare the number of winners before the event or having a set number of winners for each event. At this point I'd prefer the former, but I'll discuss it with Dread and we'll make the appropriate changes. Mentioned this in response to the OP of this thread, but I wish people would message Dread or me about this sort of stuff before taking to the forums. What tends to happen is people will only read the posts that satisfy their beliefs (ex. wow, the admin overreacted and warned this guy for no reason) as was the case for the original topic here. If you're just trying to keep us accountable, that's great, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Though I think if you were unsatisfied with my response to this issue (had it been in private messages) you could have posted just the same. Either way, I appreciate that you brought it to our attention. For readers, if you have concerns like this, feel free to message me here or in-game and I'd be happy to discuss them as much as I can. Do you have an issue with staff participating in guilds? Seemed to me that you wanted staff to be involved in the game, and participating in guilds are one of the best ways to do that, right? Just want to understand your concerns better, feels like I'm misinterpreting it a bit. Agreed that it seems too coincidental. It's another reason I envy the automated events of iEra to a degree: when staff host an event and someone they know wins, it just seems suspicious. I think the /open thing is a fair mistake to make for chance, though. It's the only event that doesn't use /start and /open interchangeably for opening the initial doors. Never made the mistake myself that I can remember, just seems like an easy mistake to make. |

It's not like they're actively towering, sparring, bking or dedicated to doing something other than being a social guild (which is fine in and of itself), but the concern that many here were voicing was that lots of admins don't have enough gameplay experience outside of having friends in a guild. It's also just annoying to me because I've been trying to win that duck cap event hat for like... the past 6 years or something and if something weird did happen here then it could explain why I (and others) haven't been able to yet. |

Yeah, I understand that concern then. I don't think it is nearly as bad as the people here make it out to be when it comes to "inexperience", but it's something we're trying to improve regardless. The part about the hat is another thing that an automated system would do better. Currently, you guys don't get to choose the hat, you just get what we are hosting for. An automated system could give you a currency and allow you to buy what you want. I don't think what we have discussed here is keeping you from getting the hat, especially if we already established that it wasn't rigged. Definitely a mistake not to announce that you were choosing two winners beforehand given that it's not exactly standard for chance. It's not like you haven't won events though (I remember you winning at least two of mine in the past?). |

Ya I've won like 4-5 event hats but that's over the course of however many years I've been playing iClassic (7 or 8 years). The part about me not getting the duck cap is mainly just saltines and not really related directly. I wanted to bring it up just cause not being able to chose which hat you want was a concern I had before but didn't know how to tie it into what we were talking about. I was just saying if anyones tipped off to warpers or whatever then it could explain why I haven't been able to win it yet. Not really a related point just kind of a side note. |

Assuming that all 2500 players pressed the button to try and enter. 50 get in 2 winners Probability for one person to win assuming two people win prizes: P(A and B)=P(A)*P(B|A) P(get in and win)=P(get in)*P(win)=(50/2500)(2/50)=1/1250=0.08% chance Probability to have all four get in: P(X)=(aCx*n-aCr-x)/nCr=(4C4*2496C46)/2500C50=undetermined, indicating that the probability for all 4 of the guild members to get into chance is virtually 0. E(x)=ra/n=50*4/2500=0.08 is the expected number of people from the four in the guild to get into chance. |
