Doesn't take away from the fact that admins need to stop making these "on the fly" changes dependent on who wins the event, just like was said during that Chance event where the NightOwls admin made some random decision that there would be 2 winners when the final two players ended up being NightOwls members

True, there could be more accurate rules for doing events for staff, and this is another example of this. It's not about blaming people though, but rather blaming the rules that staff follow. However, this could also have been achieved by contacting a staff member personally instead of posting it on the forum, just like Jarace has said earlier.

This discrepancy is something we will try to avoid in the future. Currently deciding between requiring staff to declare the number of winners before the event or having a set number of winners for each event. At this point I'd prefer the former, but I'll discuss it with Dread and we'll make the appropriate changes.

Mentioned this in response to the OP of this thread, but I wish people would message Dread or me about this sort of stuff before taking to the forums. What tends to happen is people will only read the posts that satisfy their beliefs (ex. wow, the admin overreacted and warned this guy for no reason) as was the case for the original topic here. If you're just trying to keep us accountable, that's great, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Though I think if you were unsatisfied with my response to this issue (had it been in private messages) you could have posted just the same. Either way, I appreciate that you brought it to our attention.

For readers, if you have concerns like this, feel free to message me here or in-game and I'd be happy to discuss them as much as I can.

 

Happened to me as well but it was cutieno , They should just put "If you have this hat , you can't win again" or something like that in the event announcement.

she did something wrong why wouldn't she get blamed for it? Is she the only person that gets this kind of "can do no wrong" treatment? I'm genuinely confused..

she made up her own rule as the event went along then suspiciously and randomly changed that rule when someone who openly criticizes her lost

sounds ridiculous but if she was sneakier about it (not doing it in front of 50 people) she probably would get away with stuff like that more often which she never does cause she's both awful at being an admin and at being sneaky

No one gets the "can do no wrong"-treatment, however I don't think a witch hunt will do any good. Learning from mistakes and changing the rules for events will help though. I'm sure she would have learned from her mistake after Thallen PMed her about it. However, bringing it to the eyes of the public is also a way of getting it out there, but usually people just start to rant about how they got banned for doing "nothing" and how every staff member is stupid, etc.. I still mean that this could all be solved by contacting a staff member, where they would take actions. Now it's just another spot for people to rant imo.

set PMs to friends only > starts attacking you in public (&more bullies appear)

report > admin asks you to block them

If someone is harassing you or your friend, first thing to do of course is block them. If they create multiple accounts to message you after being blocked, report both the main and alternate accounts. If they start harassing you in public chat by being inappropriate or using vulgarities, report them

changing the rules for events will help though.

I'm confused. What event rules are you talking about? The only event rules in chance is go inside of a box and wait.

I believe Guri is talking about the rules like

When/where should it be shown how many winners an event will have?(will the final two participants win in chance, or will just the final one?)
Should there be rules about people winning an event hat multiple times(even if multiple colors exit)?

Stuff like that; not the in-event rules, more like situational stuff.  

I was in that chance event also, and thought it was kinda unprofessional. Since Leah has already stated that current hat winners couldn't win the game halfway through, she could've just gave it to the 2nd-to-last winner. Probably should add a /rules command along with the /help one to clarify game rules in future events.
