I feel you are considering counting calories (as you should) I recommend the app MyFitnessPal, it is excellent for counting calories as well as keeping track or your macros

fat burner pills..... Jk, don't do that. 60% (Something around that) of your overall physique, is caused from what you consume. If you are really looking to get into shape, I recommend setting a diet. If you want to improve your overall muscle physique and don't feel like buying a gym membership, or simply don't want to buy one. You can do: Push Ups, Sit Ups, Squats and (Extra option) planks before you go to bed at night (What I prefer) but you can do it anytime that works best for yourself. You can start off small, and each week go up a little bit. I started at 25 each, and now I'm doing 125 of each, and 4 reps of 30 second planks today. Just by doing this, you can gain a lot of muscle, in the comfort of your household. I know my recommendation is a little different from what you're asking, but It's what I did when I wanted to improve my physique. |

Don't starve yourself, you will just get fatter. I'd also not recommend consuming a septuacentennial cupcake in a cup. |

Literally all it takes is an hour of your time, 4% of your entire day, to exercise. Along with exercising obviously comes eating right. What I do is buy 3 proteins (chicken, beef, steak) and buy different veggies (red/green pepper, asparagus, tomatoes, broccoli, etc), and cook a variety of meals using the protein and veggies you bought. It makes it taste better if you get like rice, lettuce wraps, or pasta to throw with it. It's not hard to lose weight, you just have to take action by do-ing. Don't think, don't try, just do. |

Id say you start getting into a sport (maybe not with extreme dedication but just as a hobby to practice) and play with your friends too

our body isn't magic. just get a habit in to running everyday. you will see the result after 2 months. if it's hard for you to run 5 miles a day. rest for a little, then run again. in pace. sweating for good amount of time is important. and calories consumption. i think other people here covered really well for that. |

I see a lot of suggestions to focus on exercise. That's a wonderful suggestion but there are a few problems with that: - diet is the first and foremost priority. Perhaps 95% of the results stem from good eating habits. Exercise is a good keystone habit that will influence dietary choices but it should not be favoured in comparison to diet. - the type of exercise suggested is probably harmful to somebody who isn't fit and has extra weight. Walking is a better starting point as you could risk harming your joints with anything that has higher impact i.e running. |

I say exercise and diet goes hand-in-hand. Added: if you want to make healthier decisions, why not go all out and do both? There's no reason not to other than excuses. "No time" also isn't an excuse. For example, I work from 8am-11am. Have class from 11am-1:30pm. Have work from 2-5. Have class from 5:30-8:10. Do homework between 8:30 and bed time at 10. The only time I have time to exercise is in the morning, so I made it a habit to get up at 5am and exercise until 7:30 (that includes getting ready for my day and showering). It's not hard to be fit, you just have to make logical decisions and actions. |

Start gaining muscle (get stronger) the more muscle you have the more calorie you will burn, if in a caloric deficit you'll start burning fat. If you don't want to do that then try intermittent fasting where you skip breakfast and don't eat 5 - 8 hours (depending on how you can handle it you'll eventually adapt) since waking up and having your meals later in the day.

It's pretty simple - all you've got to do is eat potato salad and quit the Burger King.
