American news is not reliable in anyway. A reliable source for information on Ebola would be a medical site. You will not believe how much news agencies twist the truth.

It wouldn't hurt anyone to take precautions. There's a reason why other of these yearly "outbreaks" never made such an impact on media as Ebola. Ebola is coming for that Dark Age era-sized catastrophy.

Most of those virus' that I listed were way bigger than Ebola, some of them were older so you may not have been old enough to hear about them. But no, Ebola has nowhere near as big of an effect as something like H1N1 did. Also, there is no disease that will ever be as bad as something like the Black Plague, for lots of reasons.

1. People would **** in the streets and it would not be cleaned.
today we have indoor plumbing, except in third world countries where ebola is hitting hard...

2. People didn't wash their hands, ever.
Huh...

3. They had NO medical technology whatsoever, they didn't even have the slightest bit of medical knowledge. Ffs they would dump bodies into the rivers, which would pollute their water source.

Black plague was so deadly because humans had no knowledge of what to do back then, its ridiculous to try comparing it to anything happening present day.

Your denying the possibility of a mutation happening. It could happen. Why are you denying the fact that a virus could mutate? That is a fact that you should know. Please educate me though. Prove me wrong that viruses won't mutate.

Ok yes a virus can mutate and yes it's a possibility but the chances are so small. Just because it's possible doesn't mean everyone has to panic and scream and cry and panic and buy gas masks and lock their doors and prepare themselves for the worst.

Just because it's a possibility doesn't mean it's going to happen. The chances are extremely slim for that to happen and there's no need to cry and panic over it.

The article states that even the researchers who worried about the mutation could not find a disease that mutated into an airborne illness that infected humans. They said the chance of mutation is small. The chance of me getting in a car accident driving every morning is small. That doesn't mean I piss my pants every time I get behind the wheel.

Why would we need to be prepared for something we don't know will even get that far to us? Also why did you make a thread about Ebola again when theres a thread already made for all of the Ebola related discussions, and why are you thinking itll whipe us out.

I never said it would wipe us out. I'll have you know, the U.S. Government is preparing for an outbreak, yet you still trust them... I smell hypocracy. Nevertheless, we don't know what will happen, and that's when we say "it's better to be safe than sorry."

1: You could drive safe
2: You could drive at low speeds, and avoid dangerous roads
3: You could be responsible and drive only when alert and focused
4: You could purchase a car with a high safety rating
5: You could live in a safe area where drivers are more likely to be experienced.
6: You could look for accidents before they happen, and never trust other drivers with something they could mess up. something I learned in my drivers safety class.

None of the above will protect you in the real world. Wherever you go, driving is it's own network of people affecting others. Someone driving behind you is texting and doesn't see you've slowed down. They hit you.
You've taken all 6 steps of the precautions, and they didn't work because driver #2 didn't follow them correctly.

Also, at least 3 of those are not standard. What if you don't have the budget for a nice car with good ratings?
What if you can't move away because you're 17 years old and required to live with your parents in the ghetto.
You also can't look for accidents before they happen. Not only is that physically impossible, example with someone behind you is an issue with that as well. Sometimes it's not your fault, and you can't tell the future to see it happen before it actually does.

Can you provide us with a reputable source, like a medical website that tells us that it's going to mutate and kill us all, or at least show us your degree in medicine because you're obviously way more knowledgeable about the Ebola virus than anyone in the world.
