My Reach Slim is running perfect. I'd imagine if you had a first gen/og elite it might be showing its age.
I just bought a PS3 for my family, they now have a blu-ray player and I can play exclusives. Win-win. I'm satiated until I can get a PS4 with decent games out.

It's the Jasper, the last line before Slim. My nephew does own a black Slim though and is having the same problem. If consoles "show age" then that's a major problem. I want to hop on my console and play a game, not **** around for 5 minutes waiting for everything to load and get a game going. My PS3 still boots up insanely quick and I can get into a game/app within seconds.

If it's taking more than a full 60 seconds max then it could be a network issue, trouble loading your Live account and taking longer to boot. I sold my og 360 a few days ago and it was running tip top as well so its probably hit and miss from console to console. Hardware quality was a fail this generation.
360 does take longer to boot up though. Probably because the dashboard has a ton more crap on it than PS3's simplistic menu.

My Nephews connection is solid, and mines isn't that bad. It's a somewhat recent issue, I think after one of the updates it started. Supposedly has something to do with the HDD(most likely from having a lot on it). I say **** that because I use the HDD for its purpose, and this is something they should have accounted for. I enjoyed my 360 a lot, but it doesn't leave me with a good taste in my mouth when my console is slower than a PC.

My Xbox 360 Pro takes 41 seconds from starting up to loading the Xbox 360 Dashboard.
