Im probably the only chinese that i know in the forum. Chinese new year is an auspicious time so as much as i like badass looking horns i dont think its appropriate. Its like selling halloween stuff during easter or christmas. Regarding the horse face in CNY 2014. Its really not appropriate at all. Reason is horseface is a demon guarding the gates of hell. Maybe its badass but its not for chinese new year. During Chinese new year everything is supposed to be red and 'lucky' we dont associate death with being lucky. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ox-Head_and_Horse-Face http://kaijun9145.blogspot.sg/2012/02/blog-post_16.html Not blaming anyone because i cannot expect non chinese to understand the culture. But just to reiterate we are thankful that we get a onetts shop opening for Chinese new year when many other communities dont get theirs. But couldnt we get some furniture like lanterns, dragons, liondance items, chinese fans, round chinese tables, wall paintings and food items so we can celebrate CNY in graal as well in our houses? Also i believe many people and not only the Chinese will also appreciate having real chinese new year themed items for chinese new year. |
