Pachuka was a friend of mine in 98. He was a hacker and was known as a trouble maker along with Azrael. They were really bad choices for admins, but Stefan made them the first in game admins. Pachuka made a good amount of levels, but Azrael and him were better known at the time for pking players and sending them to a hell level where they died over and over from fire. For a short amount of time they made the game unplayable. Also, I believe Pachuka was the first player to get pissed about not getting paid for his LAT work and sued cyberjeuer to have his levels removed. I only remember him creating the Rainbow pyramid and Graal castle. I was kind of annoyed he put graal castle over my baddy fort, but he put an npc of me in it and the levels were actually better. After Graal stopped using the zelda overworld map as the level set, there was a brief time when graal had no levels. You could host a graal server on your own computer using your own levels. Several of my friends sent me their levels and I put together a map joining all of their levels together. I temporarily hosted graal from my computer. I found out Pachuka submitted this map and almost immediately afterward became an admin. I was pissed about that for a long time. There are and uncountable amount of instances of people taking credit for others work in Graal though. That's partly what the game is about. :p |

PACHUKA & Azrael wore their own heads that they had made their self; these heads were inaccessible, again, as mentioned earlier (to compete I claimed the thief head, but anyone could access it and at the time I always thought his devil helmet was SWEEET). They wore clothing no one else could get, horses no one else could have, guild tags featuring their names and carried NPCs that followed them which gave them an in-game godlike presence, mystique, & power (especially considering there were only 20 other heads to choose from, 5 horses, and a certain number of clothes color combinations available). At the time, the game was pretty peaceful and full of strange levels & quests to learn from—but very occasionally (once or twice a week, if that) PACHUKA & Azrael would be online, and all hell would break loose; they would carry a leafy floor tile and other bizarre NPCs that setoff bombs that randomly built up and blew up the entire levels they were in, arrows shooting everywhere, auto-kills, sword of death, etc. He ended up not liking me during his administration; I found out ways to hack the sword of death, 20 full hearts, etc. and was perhaps the only person to ever PK him during his peak of mischief where he was nearly invincible. During the end of his reign, he released a ton of new creative levels to the southern map and things were really beginning to lookup for Graal; he made a very strange quest to collect "the black Graal", and wrote a poem to lead the way. At the time, he was the only person with the black Graal and truthfully the only person ever with the real black Graal; it followed him around and when he threw it killed everyone in the room. I searched for the black Graal & analyzed the poem (which was actually quite good), but to my knowledge that b*stard made it unobtainable. I finally found it in some of the offline levels once the latest levels pack was released, which was after he left; and I recall at one time heckling him about the black Graal—for some reason me & him would heckle each other from time to time & chase each other around while I battled his administrative powers with hacks—and he claimed only he could get it. In a sense I suppose we were frenemies; I claimed myself the "God of Gravity" and he claimed I was not a god—to which I informed him in fact I was (and Galen gave me the guild tag to prove it)—and on various occasions this dude actually blasted me in the official Graal news on graalonline.com. A year later I replaced his southern map with Destiny & proved that in fact I was indeed the 7th god—the God of Gravity. At this time we had become actual friends rather than frenemies online before his whole spout with California justice. |

I remember PACHUKA but tried to stay away because was scared of his rep. Although I was friends with his gf Lycia =p and she was in TAW with me in late '98 early on and off. But I also remember the Angel Clan church because a lot of PK went on and guild wars in Angel Clan and we'd go in the church to break. It was across the bridge (opposite side of the exit) top right corner of Angel Clan above the pool. |

I really don't think you played Graal in '98—or '99 for that matter. But I'll just say that Lycia didn't come 'til the end of '99, and we were good friends; she never played with PACHUKA. I don't recall Lycia in her early days ever being a part of a clan called "TAW"; she was a member of the Baddies, which at the time I was co-managing with Gandarian.
