So be nice and friendly towards people all year and you'll make friends who will gift you. If you want to be a big ol' meanie accusing Davids of scamming, or antisocialing it up in a corner somewhere, you're going to have to rely on Secret Santa!

If you all think the numbers of scammers in this game is ok then stay with your "giving spirit" which exist because of players like us. But we're a minority.

Secret Santa allows you only 10 gifts a day, today the gifts became a little like a competition, the more gifts you get the more items you could possibly have. So secret santa is good, but mostly to get higher than 500 gifts usually..

AAAAND here's the root of the problem in my opinion. People turned this nice season and holiday into a who's got the bigger di- pile of gift contest. The way I see it is the 10 gift limit on secret santa is there because they don't want people rushing to the gift limit. They probably don't even want people hitting the limit in the first place for various reasons but the main one I can think of right now is the strain it causes on the server. Hundreds/thousands of players gifting aka spawning countless furniture items probably doesn't sit well with the already fragile server, hence the hidden gifts when you reach a certain amount.

If players stuck to gifting the people they cared amount used secret santa for exchanging with random people no one would get scammed, no one would reach 500 gifts which is great imo and there'd be no need to hide gifts in houses resulting in a slightly better running server around christmas.

Also I kind of disagree with this. I'm not saying scamming is a good thing or anything but as someone who has gotten scammed out of thousands of dollars trading items through steam, it's a great way to learn. If you get scammed you will know what it feels like so you'll never want to fall for anything again. You'll learn to properly look at every single detail of a trade/exchange and will pick up on things you probably glossed over the first time. Lastly you'll never fall to scamming people yourself because you've been on the other end of it before and know what it feels like having something stolen from you.

Server could be better if the staff actually put money in it. Instead of keeping it. You know ... Upgrade or improve slot ect..

I'm not denying it but from what I've read and heard it's a bit more complicated than just a money issue. This is all going off of memory so forgive me if i'm wrong and I would love it if someone else could properly explain this but I'm pretty sure most of/if not all of graal as a whole is really outdated. An example of this is that the developer tools don't even run properly/at all on windows 10. As you can see Dusty is already working on level editor slowly.

It's kind of a catch 22. They need more developers but the developer tools barely even work and to update/remake those developer tools they need more developers.

But going back to the point at hand. Server upgrades would probably require a lot of things being redone which I don't think would even be possible right now so of course doing whatever it takes to minimize server latency right now would be important.

You realise this is a game right? This isn’t like people are committing financial fraud. If people are silly enough to fall for it then they deserve it. And about the ‘someone could turn into a scammer because of being scammed’. This isn’t a bloody comic book, and i dont think people are gonna start suffering trauma from their past experiences in graal.  

If you take a holiday that is about gifting friends and turn it into a goal of just getting as many gifts as you can, and 10 gifts a day isn't sufficient then maybe the risks of "trading" is justified.

if only gift boxes dropped useful items and not 80% ****ty food and useless furniture then i'd agree, but people pretty much have to do this if they want a moderate amount of non-mediocre content (so hats).  

Well, it was just a simple idea to put aside the Give Present to decrease the Scam in graal. But with all these comments i guess we dont think the same about it, and i understand your point all .

I think you'r one of the people that makes this look like a goal to reach.. why limited it to 500 gifts max ? Why put food as a super commun item ? Its clearly so we can buy more gifts lol. I love Christmas, i love the spirit of Christmas, but i'll love too having a trade or a give present System that could decrease the scam rate even if it'll make Christmas less traditional.  

I think the general idea is much better fitting for era, because not only is there no Secret Santa, but also Era players seem 10 times more likely to scam you from what I’ve experienced over the past years.

Christmas has been and likely always will be about giving gifts to people you like, to show your appreciation towards them. Next you'll tell me parents are out here gettin' scammed because their kids didn't give them equal gifts in return. Gift who you want to gift, and don't automatically expect equal gifts in return like it's o w e d to you or something. There doesn't need to be some system, just like actual Christmas, because it ain't about fair trades! It's a Jingle Jangle Jungle out there, know what I'm sayin'? You're not risking anything though, because you're gifting people regardless, and that's lIterally what Christmas is! Gifting people! Showing goodwill towards others! No comprende...?

I get what you're saying. Player sees some guy saying he'll trade 5 gifts for 5 or whatever, they give however many and then the guy doesn't return the favor and then the Player feels like they just wasted gralats and were insulted. Thing is, you're dealing with some random ass people online that you don't know. You gonna go on some message board and arrange to mail someone a PS4 and some games with the promise that they'll mail you gifts of equal value? Hell no, unless you're just giving away to give away, and aren't really focused on anything in return, cause it's Christmas. The F difference does Graal make? Actually tell me why Graal is different, why you're owed equal gifts in exchange for ones you give away. It doesn't matter if they say they'll give equal gifts, anyone can make up any lie they want anywhere they want when they're anonymous online, and everyone who uses the internet should already know this. If you use Secret Santa everyday, you're already getting like 200 gifts! Last year I didn't play until last minute, and only got 20-30 gifts, and I still got like 10 hats, 3 or 4 mounts, and a few other non food/furniture stuff.

In conclusion, you only get scammed when giving when you want to feel like you're getting scammed, otherwise it's just giving lololo

Why put food as a super commun item ?

Well I don't make that decision, but I do know it was initially because there are only a finite amount of rewards and there needs to be something in case the player runs out of items to get.
