I have fond memories of an iClassic staff member having a 9/11 holiday. I warned him, he did it anyway, **** got out of hand and I had to do major damage control.

Keep holidays to commercialised international events (i.e. celebrated by multiple countries).

• Christmas
• Easter
• Valentines Day
• New Years Eve
• Halloween

You may argue that Christmas/Easter is religious but it's commercialised to hell so it doesn't matter so much.

I am fiercely opposed to celebrating National holidays/events (4th July, Canada Day etc.) because do one, you need to celebrate every single god damn holiday ever because players will bitch.

apparently I'm a year ahead of the general consensus. Look at what was said then. Look at what was said now. I say it and everyone disagrees, Jester says a year later, everyone agrees

What sickens me the most is that they still solicit these stupid rares to kids in the "holiday shop" and that eras playerbase does not celebrate it as 9/11, instead to them its worldwide flip off a muslim day. Its insensitive and stupid. And to be honest half the kids that are even saying their parents died are merely lying for attention. Sometimes i want to just quit. But these instances are fairly rare. No matter what thread i go to if higbey comments in it imeither too lazy to read his large posts or completely agree with what he says. This thread is an example of that. Back on topic

Not to be rude, but this is true higbey. Want people to take you seriously? Stop pretending to be some weirdo behind a screen with a weird obsession with squids and being an ass hole on most serious topics, and start being a person that people can look as and say "gee, he gives a crap and what he says means something. Let me actually see what he has to say". Just my view.

On topic. 9/11 is not a holiday. It shouldn't be in the game period.

That is why I disregard what you say  

This is sensitive matter to people who actually know about the 9/11. I respect all countries and any sort of religion or culture as long as it doesn't offend any other race or culture, but because Era has a variety of players who were based on different races both young and mature. Others will find 9/11 as if it's a silly event and/or don't even know what it is. (I am not trying offend, this is a fact) They don't have anyone they know who were victims of the 9/11 event.

This is a tragedy and sad time for people who lost their loved ones. While I didn't have anyone I knew who was a victim of the 9/11, losing someone in your family or someone you know is a really tough and sad moment. My brother passed away so I know how it feels to lose a loved one.

I just feel though that people should celebrate/do their own country events outside Graal Era. Graal Era should have events/holidays where at least everyone knows about. Wouldn't you feel a little left out if you saw everyone celebrating/gathering because today is an event you don't even know about and you feel that you can't participate in the group. Yet you can't have your own holiday/event.
