Are you serious here? The video game industry is the most flourishing art right now. Seriously, inFAMOUS, LBP, Minecraft, Skyrim is a new part of the elder scrolls series, original still, the batman: arkham games, Split Second, oh yeah, and im pretty sure iGraal came to be in this decade, which in my opinion is still original with all this gfx creations and such going on. The video game industry is infact bigger than it was in previous decades, especially with motion gaming

Yes I am serious, the top 5 selling games for the holidays was Just Dance 4, BO2, Halo 4, and New Super Mario Bros 2. Can you spot the common similarity?
All those titles you named have sequels. They make a handful of games during launch year and then milk sequels until the franchise is dead. That is the pure definition of stagnant in this context.
Sure there are gems but they are far and few between.

InFAMOUS had one sequel and a halloween DLC then the franchise closed for now. And im talking within the decade btw, They were so good they had sequels. Most games don't get that. Call of duty is just activisions way of making billions upon billions of dollars, besides WoW (yes, blizzard is owned by activision). The video game industry is especially thriving with the boom in popularity of indie games like minecraft (which DOESNT have a sequel), dont starve, etc.
