Isn't it the screen that does the 3D?

I dont see two cameras on the back of any 3D tv's

3D t.v.s also dont take 3D pictures and video.

They also don't have augmented reality games.

So you have no idea what the handheld is capable of and you're bashing it?

actually yes I am bashing it, Nintendo has made an overly gimmicky system this time around and the fact they had to slash the price without the product being on shelves for even a year says enough.
$250 was too expensive for people who buy cheap nintendo products, just proves they sell cheap garbage to kids.

Rexx has a point. why put 2 cameras on the thing? I wouldn't even use one! Seems like wasted money to me. Perhaps in Japan this kind of thing would be far more popular. I don't see people on the daily snapping pics with their 3DS. As far as the 3D screen capabilities, yeah it might be a gimmick. It has no actual gameplay opportunities. Its built into a slider. The Dual screen thing was viewed as a gimmick when it came out, but it had possibilities. And Nintendo proved that. This 3D screen unfortunately doesn't.

So...if its gimmicky is up to the consumer. People seem to like 3D...as you can tell with every movie coming out being in 3D, and people willing to pay the extra 7 bucks to see them.

I really like the 3D on the console. It doesn't always add anything to the game play, but it deffinately adds a nice touch to the visuals. And thats always nice, right?

People go to movie theaters for the 3d instead of waiting for it to come out on Netflix or redbox. Heck they are making tvs that can play 3D. Obviously whatever you found on google Is someones personal opinion, because I can assure you, people love 3d and hi tech graphics. Look at Avatar.

As for the redone and "remastered classics" people seem to like them for the nostalgia and classics.

Also, I should note that I think that slapping 3D on everything is a gimmick, but in the 3DS stance it is at least useful in gaming. Jazz already stated how much it's helpful in Mario when trying to guage your position in a 3D world for accurate jumps. On Super Mario Galaxy I've had many deaths just because I couldn't tell where I was jumping because of the 3D -> 2D barrier. However, even without the 3D the 3DS is still an improvement over the DS in every way and they could have released it without any 3D at all and it'd still be a decent handheld in the same way that the GBA improved over the GBC. It's not like anyone can complain about the price now, it's the same cost as a normal DSi. And the 3DS already does 3D, they may as well allow people to take 3D pictures and movies(which a lot of people seem to enjoy).
