And I was born in '88. I grew up with dial-up. Until a few months ago I only had an iPod touch version 2. I'm actually behind when it comes to smartphones, as this (my iPhone 4S) is my first one (and I don't even have a SIM card in it, so I can still only connect via wi-fi).

I know what server lag is. I know what client-side slowdown is. I know what I'm talking about. And I know this freeze issue is not caused by lag or my device's limitations. It is a bug, and it's affecting a lot of people (including pretty much everyone I know, in-game).

I just wish more people would speak up.

Edit - (I know that "young people" comment was directed at someone else. But I just wanted to make this all clear anyway)

I know. I addressed that in the first edit. Sorry. And you did provide useful information. None of that stuff I said was meant to be directed at you. I kinda just wanted to make some things clear. Your quote kind of just got caught in the crossfire. :p  

Can people tell me if this is still happening? I'm a bit curious so I tweaked the way loot spawns are handled, wondering if maybe those were causing the freezes?

yes, only on idevice. my ipod is weak so idk. pc never freeze

It's happening to everyone and it's ****ing annoying it's been around for ages and it's getting worse and worse.

Hmm.i am playing graal, and my screen never freezes. Maybe because u people have old ipads.i have a ipad air.  

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but sometimes when I walk I just randomly stop walking and can't move for a second, but other people still move. This just happened like 5 minutes ago.

Sorry, it's still happening.

I'm on the verge of re-installing Classic because I've heard that it helps, at least at the beginning. It makes sense because I'm quite certain that this problem has been getting progressively worse for me since I installed Classic on my new device 4 months ago (in both frequency & length of the freezing).

Maybe the fact that the screen freezing gets progressively worse over time after a clean install can give you some sort of clue as to what's causing it?

Just FYI I play Graal on an iPhone 4s. And to re-iterate, it runs Graal Classic flawlessly.  

Re-install mate. It will fix the freezing issues. It fixed it for me.

I've already passed all of this information over to Unixmad, I was just curious if maybe diving had something to do with it as it does some checks every 15-30 seconds or so.

It most definitely seems like something that has to do with maybe the cache becoming too large, but like I said I already mentioned that to Unix.  

Ok so I did re-install and it's like a whole new game. Zero screen freezing. Also: The friends list and other menus load instantly, searches for players or guilds to through instantly, zooming in or out happens instantaneously. Everything runs flawlessly. I just fought the giant blob with absolutely no slowdown or any issues of the sort.

Given these results, I would greatly suggest maybe adding a client-side option to empty the cache folder? Or make it so the cache folder auto-deletes itself every few weeks or so? I'm only assuming the problem stems from the cache becoming too large, like you mentioned. Perhaps there's something specific causing this problem, or maybe there are other factors that I'm not taking into account. And, to be fair, I'm only assuming the issues will re-surface based on what people have said. For all I know, re-installing could have completely fixed the problem.

Edit - Well, people were right. The freezing problem is gradually returning. Screen froze for less than half a second on a couple occasions. It's nothing right now, but I know in time it'll get bad again.

Well I'm on the ipad before the Air and there isn't much of a spec difference I reinstall, it fixes it but eventually it will come back.  

Make sure you are going through the following steps

Settings-> General -> Usage -> Tap Application -> Delete App.

This will ensure that everything is deleted. We have a ****ty application at work that our field users use that sometimes gets bogged down and starts locking up and that's the only way we've found to fix it.
