In my opinion Windows 8 was not as superior as Windows 7. More people enjoyed the "easy browsing" part of the Classic Windows XP setup. Windows 8 Gaming had a few bugs, but offered the nice Extra features including touchscreen and some mobile devices running on that OS. Windows 8 I think was not as successful due to gaming bugs, and a lot of the games I enjoyed were not compatible. Windows 7 was a bigger hit, but Windows 8 will probably have more updates in the future. Windows 10... I'm not sure but I'm going to upgrade just to experiment. Thanks Guys for informing me ;)

I've installed the developer preview and it's looking pretty good. I'm not a fan of the way the start menu looks though - looks a little ugly.

As long as it isn't as much of a horror to program on like Gabe Newell says Windows 8 was then everything should be a-ok.

Windows XP was one of the greatest OS out there. It was easy to use and not complicated. Plus, it had the best sounds: http://youtu.be/XAZv5NHxZic |

crono pls Default Start Menu http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/win10-start-menu-980x736.png (Unsupported image host) Start menu w/o tiles http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/win10-start-menu-small-980x734.png (Unsupported image host) The Technical Preview seems pretty good. I like how they are focusing more on desktop users without a touch screen on this release. Seems more like Windows 8.2 than Windows 10, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. |
