Whoa there my friend, we might need to slow it down. sploder.com is a gr8 place for making simple games, and getting the hang of things. |

Rpgmaker is a great choice for single player RPGs...not for MMOs.

These people are just negative nellies, I believe in you Cosmo. Don't use Graal to make an MMO. It's not an easy beginners tool. If you're just interested in MMO's/MMO Servers I would recommend something like the Eclipse/Playerworlds (Non-Graal) engine, with a little configuration you'll be able to host and develop your own MMO without paying a cent. Alternatively, Furcadia is somewhat like Graal's Playerworlds but more "unique", and you don't have to pay to host your own server/"Dream". If you decide you want to create your own real MMO as opposed to just piggy-backing off the software I mentioned (which is totally fine) you should learn programming from https://buckysroom.org/videos.php > it has some nice tutorials to introduce you to programming theory. It will be hard, but with enough motivation and study you can do it. Don't go forth with the idea that you're going to make the next World of Warcraft, start small and build your way up.

When you have a solid understanding of game development and programming, then and only then attempt multiplayer. (And even then, start off basic. Multiplayer pong?) |
