That's not even touching the whole "glitch" aspect where most quests were glitchy/broken. Oh, and because of the way things worked back then with no NPC-server it wasn't uncommon to enter a room and it was already completed for you. You could literally walk through entire quests if luck was on your side... and that's what you ultimately hoped for! Instead of actually wanting to complete the quests, you were hoping you walked into a room that was already completed for you because of the myriad of problems I noted above. You completed the quests to get the rewards so you could actually compete with other players, not because they were enjoyable. Did I mention there were queues to fight bosses? And most of the time the bosses were broken and you had to unstick and do it all over again... yeah... I'm not saying it was all a bad experience. Back when I played I do remember it being enjoyable, but not because of the actual content. But because of the people I met through the content, and going through these quests with other people(frustratingly). But in the end it was a quantity over quality deal, and the enjoyment, as per usual, came from the social aspect. This was content designed for ~100-300 players in mind, and would absolutely crumble under the current playercount. This kind of questing content needs to be reimagined for what Classic is currently, and something none of us are willing to rush into and screw up. I guess though my experiences come from back when Graal was a bit unrefined, and things may have been better during Tyhm's management. |

Us players made tons of quests and submitted them during an era of creativity. We wanted quality, but the players wanted to make a mark. That is why in 1.3 the clothes were set in a room with colored squares because some dude decided convenience was his preference despite the way it basically made all of the houses with clothes racks suddenly useless. Heads could be changed suddenly and now players had no commitment; and tons of heads and swords etc. were definitely added just to keep things "flowing" but that's because the player base was very small, not because it was the right way to manage things. I was the level & graphics admin and there was a ton of pressure to add junk or people would literally harass and hack you. Play 1.1; it's a beauty |

Their were simple puzzles like the one where you need to put together a sardon picture on the ground (I think it took place in the respawn room of the curent sards) But those quests were fun I dont remember the sort of glitches ever happening that you mentioned but I joined the party late so maybe it was fixed then. |
