Not even necessary to exclude anyone with a lagcap. As I suggested in another thread, get rid of the useless spar rooms that are only used to boost (mobile tournament and facebook tournament) and turn those into lagcap rooms. One room could be quick spar and the other could be tournament both with lagcaps of 250ms. If you don't want to be bothered with vpns and delayers, spar there. If your ping is uncontrollably awful or you feel like using vpn, spar in the other rooms. |

Should also be a spar room for American's, would make the game more enjoyable for the low latency players |

A 400ms cap on a rolling average should disqualify a player from spar. When I used to play MMOs on 56k I usually got in the 450 range. I got kicked from games regularly and could only rejoin when my lag calmed down, but on some days it was better than others. It was more fun to play with less lag anyway.

- We have 2 sparrers, Sparrer A averages 50ms while Sparrer B averages 250ms - Sparrer A would have to guess the opponent's position 300ms in advance because that's the sum of both latencies in order to land a hit - Sparrer B would also have to guess and hit 300ms in advance - Sparrer A is guessing where his opponent is in real time - Sparrer B is guessing where his delayed output is going to be in real time sorry if this was unclear |

With lag, it's generally measured as "ping," or how long it takes to relay a message from the client to the server and back. The client tells the operating system to send a message to the server. This goes over a few computers on a network that each take a certain amount of time to pass it on to the next guy. Eventually the message gets to the server, and the server then takes the time to send it back (same process). The amount of time that takes (for a round trip) is called ping or lag. There's also a measure called packet loss, which is the amount of messages that go missing when the client and server try to talk to each other. Usually, those messages need to be sent again. Anyone with the appropriate technical knowledge can configure their networks/OSs in such a way as to do something like, delay sending all data to the server for 100ms, drop every one out of X messages to or from the server, etc (e.g. they can even receive closer-to-real-time data via proxy if they're smart enough). However, that could be happening at any point between the client and the server so determining whether it's intentional is impossible. For that reason it makes the most sense to set an upper-threshold where the responsiveness of the gameplay is reasonable to most players. |

Forget device specific rooms I think it's time for MS specific spar rooms. I also think players with a 250 MS or higher should not be allowed to pk and tower. Only afk, advertisement of farms, and socializing for them. Players that do not have an American flag should also have some type of indicator above their head so we know who the bad ones are.
