First of all, players are enjoying the game. the minority of us sparers or pkers may be like "where's the new content at" but for the majority of the players, who are mostly social, nexus opening is a big deal. Graalians doesn't accuratly portray the distribution of social and combat based players in my opinion.

And graal probably doesn't make enough to be able to pay the bills of it's scripting team. I seriously doubt it makes an extra 150,000 dollars(assuming you would only pay Rufus, fp4, and Dusty) a good salary. Even if it did make that much, I doubt Unix would give it up. Maybe it does, and im unreal about their profits, not that we'll ever know.

Just post your idea and move on, if they like them they'll do something with it.

So their skill level is at the 60k mark? They should really be getting paid (if they don't already). I remember doost and cuko making a thread or posting about how they were quitting and would no longer be a part of the dev team. Makes me wonder what changed their mind to not quit? Did they say that, so they would get paid? Maybe it wasn't true? If not, then they should be getting paid, along with the age 13+ staff members.

It's not whether they like the idea or not, it's when players keep insisting for them to be implemented. I'm not talking about some idea that one user has posted, I'm talking about the one's that keep getting reposted.

Your posts are all over the place; you could probably just summarize it by saying that we don't get enough 'game changing' updates. At least that's how I'm going to take it, and I'd agree with you. At the same time however, the staff team also has to deal with things like criticisms for not having content put out for 2 weeks while Nexus was being worked on so I'm curious as to how you think it is viable for long-term bigger projects to be worked on. This is why I said that you grossly underestimate how long it takes to produce content, because regardless of the 'skill' of the people involved, things still take time.

The timing of this thread isn't the best, but if you look back, ideas have been posted and this nexus hasn't been in the making for years (at least, I can't imagine as such). If I would have posted this next week, then you would be saying "Nexus was just released last week", next month, "Nexus was just released like last month".

Might as well be now.

I have no idea on how long it takes to make: Fishing, Get more Staff to host way more events, quick spars, singles tourney room, streak gs room, ctf, koth, day/night system, house slots & expansions, etc don't want to list more.

That's not to say that some good improvements have not been made, you guys are heading towards the right direction by the leaderboards, and even the latest small update like the hat viewers when you buy.

You can't host an event and police the server at the same time. If more events were being hosted then players would just complain that emphasis is being put on events instead of policing, and it would be used as a reason why the GP are doing such a bad job. "Why aren't these hackers being caught? Oh ya, that's right because the GP are too busy hosting events!"

Players hardly ever played it. There were always less then 10 players in CTF at any given time and who knows how many were there only to boost. The only reason anyone cares is because it was removed.

Oh please, why is this still being brought up? The single-player areas were removed when the lag went away, and it has barely been used since then. The last place it was used was outside of Burger Refugee for a single day when the playercount hit 4500. It's now being used in the library to make it easier to see yourself in areas that are important.

Guess what, it's not for your device performance! If you could turn it off, it defeats the entire purpose.


Revamping entire systems that are firmly established already isn't very easy. That's not even touching on planning out every single detail to make sure it's something that's viable and addresses everything that needs to be fixed/added.

If there were ever anything like this it wouldn't be a leaderboard. Being able to sort the public houses list seems cool though.

Sometimes players just get tired of a game after a while. Usually it's the social aspect that keeps players involved though.


Even with the most skilled of developers content still takes time.


Big or small, all updates have the priority of players in mind. But every suggestion a player makes is not a good suggestion. Some are downright bad. Some are just vague. Oh really? Fishing is a good idea? How did we never think of that!


Updates are time consuming to make. And you can only really do one thing at a time. We can't magically make big updates while also pushing out small updates that keep players interested on a month-to-month basis.

See above. Just because someone suggests something doesn't mean it's good, or feasible, or likely. There's always a very long to-do list, but you can only cross off so many things at a time with the finite time we have. Graal has always and will always be a primarily social-based game. Sorry if you don't see it as that, but it is. If you can't find replayability in socializing then you're gonna have a bad time. In the end it always comes back to interacting with other players. Other traditional MMORPG's don't have to deal with the same problems Classic has because they're completely different. They can get away with adding a new area that consists primarily of new baddies with new skins with new numbers plugged in and it's a big update. Classic does not have that luxury.

Yes, because it was removed. But, because it had no purpose, and players were abusing it. If you were to add a section to the new leaderboard system, change the them to the new art style, then players would definitely play ctf.

I still get the ghost icon on my screen, so you should check into that.

Even something like having guild recruitment "Open to anyone" is good. Not saying that there aren't other issues that the majority of players keep asking for.

It's not about whether you have thought about fishing, it's why it hasn't been implemented, if from what you stated, has obviously been thought of.

No one is saying that you can move a magic wand and presto! update. Priorities are set to money, but there needs to be a separate team that handles big updates. Don't have enough people? Find more. "Easier said than done?", well put some effort. Unix should start handing out wages.

Then just do a questionnaire and let the majority of the players decide on what the next update should be. Listen to the players instead of "following my heart".

The new nexus would be a "game changer" if you could use the ladder to get on higher levels. The only thing I can think of is the house that let's you up on the roof, and creating the illusion of a higher level by stacking walls and using rugs.

It's not thinking of being entitled to a game changing update when the majority of community have wanted it for YEARS ask any player from past who quit/pop on now and then ask them 1. why they stayed around before quiting 2. what they wanted to see on graal. 'cause I guarantee the majority updates even 'party different themed places arn't in there list.

To add to it it well and truly is the sparring community that have destroyed classic and hold it back from becoming anything more than that roleplay shop. have fun sparring in spar and forts that were adjusted to fit into the sparrers tactical play while destroying other forts that didn't fit into how they play.

Moreover, you seem to hold a belief that if an update doesn't appeal to you or isn't within your own little bubble then it holds no value. This is a very easy trap to fall into, but ultimately one which is wrong. There is a diverse amount of players on the game, the majority of which are here to socialize and dress up, like it or not. There is a huge amount of feedback for hats shops to be updated, for Nexus to open (you can actually see this on Graalians too) etc. I don't expect you to have read this because how could you? Most of it is in-game feedback and Graalians is a minority group. Still, would you say that such demands don't hold much value compared to yours?

What Aguzo and many like minded people fail to see is that it does take a long time to pump out content filled updates, This Nexus is the first update we've had in 20 days and its obviously taken a long time to make the graphics for it, script it, test it and tweak it.

Rufus isn't wrong when he says many of you are blinded by this delusional idea of "I don't like the update therefore its not content filled and terrible" most updates are great.

We get maybe 4-5 huge gameplay updates a year, 2-3 nexus', holiday shops, shop updates, new towers, Easter egg hunt, Halloween event, Christmas event.

On top of that tonnes of small updates in between I don't really see why Aguzo is complaining about the game being worse then it was before all hes done is lost interest in the game that does not mean he needed to try and sway people to see his way over the topic.  

aguzo go play nexon games bro. 1 update = the whole interface + quest list + level cap and all the items changes. couldnt recon dragon nest after 1 update.

Might as well be now, because people keep reposting certain threads, and players keep asking for the same ideas, but for some reason they haven't been implemented nor have been told that they will ever be.

Plus, I said that, because I wanted to state that you guys have been finally improving the game, and are now listening to the players, but I don't want it to stop there, and let your heads be turned to another area with shiny new hats, while the good ideas die down and then players give up on posting new ideas.

I haven't seen a good idea in a long time, and the only one posting is vladimir. Feels like everyone just gave up, cause no one is listening.

I like casual games, not grinding game. I used to play maple before I played graal. Graal became the only game I would ever play, and turned me into a casual fanatic. I do play other rpgs with the mmo, but that only lasts a few days, because that's not what I'm looking for.

Besides, it's not to suit my needs. It's to let the new players have a better experience on graal, than I ever had.

That's a nice vague list of ideas you have there. Exactly my point. I can come up with a list of ideas like that in a few minutes. Vague ideas aren't the hard part with developing. Also, that's a list of updates you and a few vocal others want. What makes you think your idea of a good update is better than what a majority of players ask for(like hats, nexus and so on)?

Did you not read anything about what I said when I said overhauling an entire system like the guild system would be a huge undertaking and time-consuming. You assume when I say that it's because we don't want to do it... no, it just means we can't magically make it appear overnight. And assume a player makes a really good suggestion? Then what? We immediately start working on that and stop working on what we already started on? What if another good suggestion comes up while we're working on the other player suggestion? Ah right... now we have a backlog of stuff to do. We have a limited team and limited time to work on things. We can't do what every player wants as fast as they want it.

You seem so oblivious to the entire situation. We can't magically just find people who are proficient in GS2. Graal does not have a sustaining development system. In fact, its entire system is broken. Documentation is poor. There is no easy-access environment to learn it. You need to either pay for a server or sign up on Testbed. Got a question? Who will you ask for help? The other handful of developers? Here's something I needed help with as far as scripting goes. 0 replies.

Players don't know what they want, or they don't know what the best interest. If players say they want a new town? Okay, now we're obligated. Then they'll whine when 6 months go by because towns take a lot of time to make and there's no one else to work on the more frequent content.

So it's not a "game changer" because it doesn't do what you want it to do.  

Maybe players love hats and customisation of their avatars but end of the day 1000's of hats/furniture etc has been made over the years, while the more content-wise(as in playing game-some action stuff has been left in the dark like everyone wanted that hat in a shop..ok yeah some do want that but still doesn't change the fact its took 5years of stuff you have place into the game(looking like something to come) and none of it got progressed, yet your still here giving same replies still waiting for the 'do it yourself' 'go for it' quotes. Basically have been doing this stuff for years to keep players who think of leaving/quitting that to hand it to classic they do it well, but be nice to start seeing all this stuff actually get worked on, for the other majority of players that would prefer them updates than hats etc.

Of course it would. Why would you expect something big to come out next week when something big came out this week? Unrealistic expectations like that are created by yourself. I don't think there has been anything wrong with the output of this year so far, so I don't think a thread like this is necessary.

Unfortunately, I never really got around to playing around with the particle engine back in the day. Otherwise I'd help you out.

Development pool is thin and there's nothing we can do about it. Pay or not. It really doesn't help that Stefan is gone now as now there's no one who can make the critical bottom-level updates that are crucial for real progression.

There is at least one person with experience in GScript2 who would be willing to script, and probably be able to work on bottom-level stuff too, if it was a paid position.
