Well not really, if reincarnation is real then eventually we will continue to be reborn into smaller, less complex organisms until eventually we turn into dust and then at one point or another cease to exist.

I don't think that's what happens, but you never know

I've always wondered that; if only life can have a soul, then is there a single molecular step towards complexity that summons that soul? Technically, the entire earth is a living being, so would the entire planet have a single shared soul, would we individually have souls, or do our individual cells have souls? If complexity isn't a factor, then a rock can have a single soul. Either that, or the entire universe has a soul. We are all systematically connected, so it wouldn't make sense if individual objects/animals/plants (which are only perceived like so because of sensory processing in our brains) had souls.

Maybe there is one single universal soul, and it is instead our individual intelligence that allows us to access our own individual crumb from that soul by learning. So complexity is technically a factor, but complexity isn't really quantitative, whereas intelligence is. Self awareness, I should say, allows us to access that soul (if souls really do exist, and if they do, it would probably be explainable indirectly by a theory of gravity, which we get closer to every day).
