Also, anyone have any experience with air tanks? My specific interest right now ISN'T which is better, I already KNOW hpa is better. My question is comparing the weight of aluminum HPA tanks to C02 tanks. Everywhere I read it's "DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ALUMINUM TANKS, THEY'RE TOO HEAVY!!!!!!!!!" but C02 tanks are also pretty heavy and I don't mind lugging that around on my gun. How does a "steelie" HPA tank compare to a 20oz C02 tank in weight? I can't seem to get a straight answer for this very simple question. If it's about the same weight I might not bother going carbon fiber, because it's so damn expensive. |

Edit: Compressed air tanks better regulated shot for shot. Which means your balls will be more accurate because the pressure behind each shot is more regular, vs more varied with co2. |

I know the pros of HPA. What I'm asking are how do aluminum(steelie) HPA tanks compare in weight to CO2. I already know carbon fibers are very light Kind of what I mean about not getting a straight answer, haha. I ask a simple question, "How does the weight of an aluminum HPA compare to a 20z CO2?" And everyone goes off about how great HPA is and how much CO2 sucks... but I already know about all that lol.

I currently have an AK-74 310 fps and a spring pistol as a secondary, but my birthday was last Sunday and i just ordered a SICK Safe Phace (Yes its spelled like that) and a 510 fps sniper rifle. I play with my friends behind a church... hehe i think i shot one of the windows out before *Safe Phace Mask |

310 fps seems quite low for airsoft. Aren't airsoft regulations at 400fps(500fps for snipers)?

"The average FPS rating is 250 for lower end guns and 300-500 for higher end guns. Sniper rifles vary from 350 up to 500 fps. " Also from my local paintball/airsoft field: "The velocity limits for the field are 400fps with .20 bb's for regular AEG's and 500fps for snipers with .20's with a minimum engage range of 100 ft." |

Some people at my local airsoft arena have FPS-tweakable guns. They tweak it down to 340, and when it starts, back up to 500+.

I used to play airsoft, 'till it became illegal where I live. I now play paintball, but its really expensive, since they only allow their markers. I go there with my friends every month and its awesome. The only thing I hate is camping, I mean come on it ruins the game. Paintball is better imo, but that's only my opinion, maybe because I play paintball more. |

I want to try airsoft, but I can't afford to take up both sports. Paintball is expensive enough.
