A Guild CTF Tourney each month would be amazing. Like there would be a special new map for each month/season. In the winter you would be able to use snowballs, skates, etc in like a Snowtown enviroment or like a Santa's Workshop map and in contrast the summer it would be more of a forest maze/outdoor camp arena environment  

I once started doing a CTF minigame that was designed from the core specifically for balanced and fun CTF. It had admin options that let you easily control teams from a GUI, and also allowed you to change up various rules(such as whether or not it showed where the flag holders were, if flag holders could use the sword/weapons) as well as what items/powerups would spawn on the map(since the design called for players to find/earn items, rather then being handed them).

Nice ^_^ power ups would be real fun for ctf, but idk if they would run well on IPhone.
Admin hosted ctf wouldn't work as well as there would be hundreds playing at once in different matches.

I really want to help fix the current ctf by making a few new maps that are balanced, but I don't think I'd be allowed to :/

So? It's for admins to orchestrate, they don't necessarily have to watch over every play.

I was thinking you meant the system should be entirely handled by admins. I guess it wouldn't hurt to give them tools to make sure the game goes smoothly, or host special versions of ctf.

The systems intent is to give admins flexibility. If they want things to be automated then that would be easily done.

Thinking beyond the bare minimum will go a long way in development. In this case many people approach events as some minor adjustment to Graal itself, when it'd probably be better to approach it as its own game. In this case I approached development of my CTF in the same way many online shooters work, where everything is made from the ground up to cater to the game of CTF, rather then just being Graal with a flag script thrown in.

Leaderboards are also an incentive to play as players enjoy raising their rank and compare their stats with others. Leaderboards and statistics really help content to be played more; guild forts have been incredibly active and pking has increases since the pking leaderboards were added. People like to go for goals.

Edit: Based on ideas by other people in this thread, guild based ctf would also be great in addition to the revamp. Maybe have a solo queue for players who don't have a guild in addition to being able to choose to be in the same game/team as their friend, but also a guild ctf event with say a 6v6 and 12v12 mode.

P.s if you don't like anything I bump you have the option if you want to voew the thread.  

This has been constantly talked about.. In fact I just played a game! I could just get on my horse, take their flag, and bring it back without anyone attacking... THAT IS NOT FUN! Make it so there are rotating maps every game and have a bigger map.. For CTF.. It's kinda small.. But if there was a CTF tourney.. I would play and I know so many would play.. I'm very depressed on how little people play.. Gotta resurect this!
