Yogy, i completely agree with you in every way that the saber should be more enjoyable.
To the people who disagree; Maybe you should rethink your decision. Ok so yeah it might take you long to get a saber, but at least you have a nice fun item to play around with

And an improved saber could make people quit in a way. They see that it's amazing, decide to play events, get frustrated because they can't win, then rage quit, saying its the staffs fault because of amazing things that is "nearly impossible" to get

Aside from that, I still agree with improving the saber, or at least to let us block melees  

There's always something to bitch about.  

Events in iera are just not balanced anyways. So stop arguing until this isn't so.
