We know that he feels the pain if something happens to that body within those 3 seconds, so my bet is that is it. Another one is he might possibly overload from the amount of abilities he takes on, or it's the fact that it takes those abilities away when used. Rules never stated the shortcoming had to be bad. Also, **** recap episodes.
