nuggets traded wilson chandler to the 76ers to clear space, imo no team improves or gets worse from this, wilson chandler is the definition of average and nuggets need to free that slot for michael porter jr. if not mpj, then will barton can start in that slot. also suns just paid devin booker $30M+ per year for 5 years, that organization is actually doomed when he proves to be an inefficient scorer with worse than mediocre defensive capabilities who the league overrates the hell out of because he dropped 70 points against isaiah thomas through cheesing free throws in a lost game. averaging 25 points per game on the abysmal roster that is the phoenix suns is not impressive with “tj warren” also averaging 20. lou williams averaging 23 on a team that touches the playoffs is far more meaningful, while also posting a better effective field goal percentage than this “top 5 shooter in the league”. it’s genius how the nba pushes these narratives just to try to market a failing team and you guys actually buy into them. |

I'm not seeing how this current Lakers roster is vastly better than the Cavs. The Cavs had more veteran players in must-win-now mode while the Lakers look like a team that's rebuilding with young guys like Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, etc. Throwing LeBron on a team that's gonna take at least 1-2 years to develop seems awkward. I think the Lakers' team is better, but not worth leaving $50m on the table for. Maybe Magic told LeBron it's going to be a two-year process and there would be more acquisitions next year. They also need shooters badly, they need someone like Korver or Reddick who can just spot-up in a corner and make shots. I think LeBron will probably like Walton's offense where he can play off the ball a lot more, but if they're not adding another star player then I don't see then coming close to threatening the Warriors. I think it's possible that the Rockets may even be able to compete with them for #2 in the West. |

warriors built a championship roster entirely through the draft and phenomenal player development and made a legal free agent signing in kevin durant, something that any nba team can do. why do people act like he was locked down to the thunder? if free agents have to stick with their team, then what’s the point of free agency? just lock down every player to whatever team drafted them for their entire career, i guess. the demarcus cousins signing was suspect, yeah, but the kevin durant signing was like any normal free agent signing. i wouldn’t want to play on a team with the most selfish player in the NBA in russell westbrook, either, great career move by KD.

more moves that i think are meaningful: -dwight howard signing with the wizards. this replaces marcin gortat with a better all around player, imo making them slightly better than the bucks now. -kyle o’quinn signing with the pacers. gives them a good backup center behind myles turner. -oklahoma city thunder opting to somehow remove melo from their team. huge move for the thunder, gets rid of a complete liability both offensively and defensively as well as a locker room cancer. guy has been overrated for so long since he played for the new york knicks’ trash roster, similar to how devin booker is now being overrated on the suns. thunder improving after this one. |

-kings offered zach lavine 4yr/$78M, bulls matched it. i believe that he is worth that money if he can stay healthy, unfortunate he is stuck on a bulls team with no upwards trajectory. not sure why the kings wanted him in a slot that is occupied by bogdan bogdanovic/buddy hield already. -portland resigned jusuf nurkic for 4yr/$48M/$53M(?). good deal on a versatile player. -grizzlies gave kyle anderson 4yr/$37M. he is a great fit with their culture and if he repeats what he did last season, this is a great value. spurs losing a quality player. -jazz waived jonas jerebko, warriors plan to sign him, adding a good 3 point shooter to their bench. |
