You might be right but as far as I remember, maybe I am wrong but doesn't joining the dark side corrupt you? Like, the force feels stronger in the dark side, it consumes the user and the user has access to abilities that jedis don't. So I don't know, maybe users will always have to decide between one, also heard that grey jedis need extreme focus and balance, therefor their rareness.

I don't think Luke realized that both sides are equivalent in terms of potential evil-ness, rather, he realized that people can change. Anakin made the decision to join the dark side, and he can make the decision to leave it. You aren't "born" into it; it isn't innate. I believe that's the subject out of the entire Star Wars series.

That actually looks pretty cool! Technically they did in Episode VI, the new 'Empire' in The Force Awakens is the First Order. After the rebels succeeded, I'd assume they'd be the New Republic but for some reason they're now known as The Resistance?.. |

Look at Count Dooku, he was a Sith but wasn't really corrupt. He more just changed sides because he had a different political view. He wasn't really 'evil' like the others and didn't even have the sith eyes. Pretty much. I'm sure the new order has some members from the Empire but the new order isn't the old empire as that was pretty much built on the Emperor who is dead. But yea you can definitely see the Grey Jedi thing is what Disney is going to do. Before Disney took over grey jedi didn't exist/ weren't acknowledged (at least in anything directed by George Lucas) as he didn't want people to see the possibility of what's in the middle as he just wanted the two sides to be complete opposites of each other. Recently after Disney bought the rights and rebooted the franchise you can see in the starwars rebels cartoons that out of nowhere they have introduced the inbetween possibility. Asohka has two grey lightsabers, being the first time the official franchise has accepted the existence of Grey Jedi, and in one of the episodes the Kanan character meets a force creature who didn't see the light side and darkside as good or bad, it just depended on how the information was used and that he was neither. Like I said in a previous post, the new movies use a lot of foresight, and like to show glimpses/ plant seeds of what is to come. They've used and officially stated that they want/will be using parts of the cartoons in the movies. I'm fairly confident Rey will be getting a doublesided lightsaber, I mean she uses a staff and the staff itself kind of looks like a lightsaber (some people have speculated that it's made of lightsaber parts). Whether it actually is a lightsaber I doubt but could be, but what I think is going to happen is she will turn her staff into one, and use the part of the staff as the lightsaber. I think it'd be pretty cool if going off the grey jedi thing that she's given a white/ grey lightsaber, or at least something new, maybe orange. At this point i'm over seeing blue and green lightsabers. https://i.stack.imgur.com/O8rci.jpg (Unsupported image host) |

Both "sith" and Jedi are "force-sensitive", the only thing that defines and contrasts the two is their philosophy on what the Force is and how one should use it. In the now non-canon EU books Luke becomes a sith temporarily and returns to the light side with a deeper understanding that helps him become a better jedi so it is possible to walk the line but not many characters can do it successfully. As for powers, Jedi can heal others much more effectively than sith, sith requires further use of bacta tanks and traditional medicine because their philosophy of the force is not compatible with rejuvenation, but the sith have stronger "strength" with the force in that they can move heavier objects and cast force lightning. The Empire wasn't destroyed at the end of the Return of the Jedi, they only cut the head off the snake. There are/were still Grand Admirals and star destroyers running around and vying for control of imperial forces etc. |
