Am mostly vegetarian, we can be best pals. Only for the reason though as I don't want to support the inhumane treatment and killing of animals on most of the farms that provide meat to massive companies. My boyfriend and family are not vegetarian and I don't hold that against them, I just ask that they use organic meats from farms that are certified good living conditions. It's been hard for me to stop eating meat, because everyone in my family is so into it and there have been times where I've ate dinner with them just because I don't want them to waste it on holiday or something. So, I'm definitely not a model vegetarian or anything. The most important thing to me is that the animals have a happy life and don't suffer. At the very least though if someone who buys or makes me food doesn't know I'm vegetarian trying to cut out meat, I'm not going to waste it. I've seen many vegans/vegetarians who order food and the restaurant accidentally brings them out the meat anyways and then the person sends it back. At that point it makes me sad, because even then you've just wasted a life since that restaurant has to throw it away. So far though I've cut down a lot on eating meat and intend to wean it out completely. It's made me happier and feel better morally about myself and I think that's one of the most important things - that we're happy with ourselves.

Reason: After reading the negative posts I felt like I needed to add a bit more information from my perspectives.

there is no "humane" way going about killing animals. im sorry cant argue it. but this thread wasnt meant to be an argument, it was supposed to be informative and seeing who else is vegan in the community. if you arent even remotely interested in veganism, why are you on this thread? ------ For those of you interested in veganism even a little bit or want to know more about it feel free to post and I'll inform you. Reasons to go vegan, why you should, how you should, and what it's like. or if you are vegan i'd love to know your experience with foods and how long and such. those who aren't, tell me why and I'd like to inform you otherwise, but let's not make it an argument, thanks. |

the only excuse for not going vegan is if you don't care what goes on, or you "can't live without meat" to the point of remaining blissfully ignorant. change your attitude: change your life for the better |

not factual, or relevant. rather, the life they're living on this planet is what matters. the hell they live through and experience, the circumstances they are put into. whether or not there is no afterlife is extremely irrelevant to much of anything

His comment about "converting u all" was, I feel like, obviously a joke. If he wants to talk about being vegan and what it means to him then why can't he? |

He made a thread looking to talk to people who are vegan/vegetarian or looking to become so and literally the first post someone made was, "not me." If you do not agree or are not interested in the topic of the thread then why post? |
